A few years ago, I was invited abroad by a well-known Daee, whom I greatly respect, to participate in a programme. The programme brought together Duaat from various backgrounds. What shocked me at the time was the entitled attitude of some of the Duaat, particularly one of them. He wanted to be treated like a celebrity and would become extremely angry at the slightest inconvenience. I vividly recall him telling me, “How famous he was and how people wanted to take pictures with him”. The shocking thing was that this Daee couldn’t even recite the Quran correctly. Unfortunately, the Din will be used by some people for their own worldly agenda. They will tell others they are doing “Dawah” work, but in fact it will be a call to themselves and to accumulate the wealth of this despicable world. If this is what our “Dawah” is turning into, it is best that we stop and get a full-time job where we can provide for our family—this is better and more rewarding. People can disagree with the Tablighi Jamaat all they want, for example, but the truth is that you will find many among them who have been doing the Dawah work for decades without any recognition. In fact, they always spend their own money and time. In the programme I participated in, a CEO of a famous Dawah organisation asked me how it was possible for the Tablighi Jamaat to be so effective without a website or ever taking money for their Dawah endeavours. He was complaining that the Duaat of his organisation don’t do the work properly despite being paid. Unfortunately, it now seems the Dawah scene is turning into a personal “chanda” project. The objective of Dawah should be only to call towards Allah. Our vision should be our Creator and the Hereafter. We are nothing. We are just the means and can easily be replaced.

@OBHoriginal It's risky still out there. Better wait. I appreciate Iran they experiment new systems of government instead of just following western established or full authoritarian models. But still has to change their approach and strategies to deal with domestic affairs.

@SyedMuzaffar07 When he went to Syria and just before he changed we had grown a bit distant but he used to be a good friend of mine. Once he was there he was posting oictures of people he killed one of he even holding a head seperated from its body. He died awaiting trial.
