Unfortunately, I was part of the second round of layoffs from our company today. But beforehand, I went for a bike ride and this picture kind of gets me through the day and keeps my spirit positive.

I am excited about going to Woods Hole next week, but as a true introvert who hasn’t lived with anyone other than my fiancé in seven years I am NOT stoked about losing all privacy for three weeks (i.e., sharing a room with a stranger).
How do people deal with this?

Although I left academia, I still love data mining. As I went back to training for longer races, I wanted to have a more automatic way of tracking my training plan vs completed mileage and tracking other metrics. First draft 🎉 Thanks @wormsense for wonderful figure training.

Can confirm: riding over the Golden Gate Bridge is still one of most terrifying things you can do on a bike (especially if said bike has 65 mm rims). But still, so glad I got to do this one last time with my #ScienceSistah @SylviaFechner 🥰🚴♀️🧚🏽♀️

This project started together with my first Stanford summer student. Not only did we learn about pharmacological properties about DEG/ENaC/ASIC channels, it was also an amazing mentoring experience and accelerated my thrive for automated analysis.
