The winter has been a time of regrouping and reasessment for the Symmetric project. We are close now to being granted two additional patents in the EU and US, bringing the total to seven globally. Significant progress was made on many fronts through the end of 2024, including successful Proto-Pecuni launches on the BNB and Ethereum chains. These presales were run during the previous US administration. In general, technical projects (as opposed to meme coins) had limited results in the market last year, due to concerns that the US Securities and Exchange Commission might deem the related token a security. Since the inauguration of Trump, it seems that crypto has entered a golden age. The current bull market is however overshadowed by the threat of a collapse from the exponential advances in quantum computing capabilities in recent months. A quantum computer was successfully used to break a standard asymmetric encyption protocol (with a smaller key size than currently used). Concern over bitcoin's security has reached a fever pitch. Some governments are now limiting export and access to quantum computers out of fear of a breach. Various schemes continue to be created to delay the coming "Q-Day" by making key lengths longer, or using more complicated asymmetric algorithms. As million bit quantum computers appear to be feasible in the near future, these solutions will only be temporary. The need to implement Symmetric's unbreakable encryption has never been greater. Symmetric will take advantage of the new crypto environment and resume presale activities to broaden exposure across chains, and move towards the primary Polygon ICO. The next presale will be announced very shortly. The project is in a position to begin technical development of the Quantum Lock communications system, which is a necessary precursor to deployment of the Symmetric blockchain.
