The liberal mind is unable to conceive of dissent against itself due to it's rooting in modernist epistemology. They view their ideology as being the product of unbiased, eternal, objective truth and reason. Thus they cannot explain dissent as all rational individuals should, under their epistemology be liberal. Thus they are unable to accept casual explanations for alienation from liberalism and support for alternative systems and solve this contradiction by inventing anthropomorphizing the process and assigning blame to it. You cannot have rejected liberalism because of any sensible causal factors, that would violate their epistemology, so they believe in must be a propaganda that just infected your mind and got you to ignore your lying eyes... which would obviously make you a liberal without interference, of course, totally. It's no different then the Muslim blaming bad things on a Djinn, they just replace the word "Djinn" with "radicalization" and "propaganda," but in terms of practical use they mean the same thing.
