We integrated intracellular self-assembly and metal ion homeostasis! This is one of my favorite works, conceived at Stanford University @Stanford and nurtured into a beautiful story at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research @mpi_polymer , with support from the Humboldt Foundation @AvHStiftung . A team @mpi_polymer around @SynatschkeLab @WeilTanja has developed a 20nm thin filter using the mussel-like material "polydopamine". It efficiently separates ions & molecules, mimicking biological membranes. Read more in our press release: mpip-mainz.mpg.de/en/press/pr-20…
