@GatoSunset @aPatatkat Most people are on desktop AFK fishing in the background. The world has no cooperative elements, and if people take you on their boat to go fish in their endgame area, you won't be able to catch anything. It's a solo experience at heart, and has no place in VRC.

Some of you don’t pass the boat test and it shows.

@KryDotExe "Final Exfil" still need a terminal to be activated. If nobody activated an exfil terminal, it won't spawn.

Okay so a couple of issues I've found with Cryo Archive: - AI Subroutines not spawning inside vaults for some people - Final exfil not spawning for some people? Also 1 minute to get to it is kind of insane considering the size of the map

@PaulTassi Marathon is designed from the ground up (Extraction shooter with heavy PvP emphasis) to be a niche, then Bungie applies their "let's make it more of a niche" sauce. Golden game for the few it caters to, but a bad business move given the cost of development and ongoing costs.

Yeah this is the question. You can design content that is visually, mechanically and thematically interesting but if you're completely wiping out players' vaults rapidly you're looking at potentially fractional participation. When...you already need more players

@Ziegler_Dev Easy fix: open Vault 1, exfil, you can no longer loot anything in Vault 1 for a week, repeat for 2-7. You already have a mechanic that tracks each Vault opened during a weekend, just use it and leave Cryo 24/7. For Ranked, just make it staggered so it's not always on weekends.

Cryo and Ranked are coming and we're excited to see players battle it out over Tau Ceti and traverse into the big scary moon-like ship in the sky. We've put out a few posts about Cryo, poured through the variety of comments and feedback we've seen so far, and wanted to take some time to explain some of the initial decisions we've made around Cryo and Ranked with regards to weekend scheduling. So without further ado, here's what we have been thinking: We are of course always iterating and are open to looking at other options in the future, but the Ranked/Cryo Archive weekend decision is really built around three points: - Preparing: We acknowledge that players will lose a lot of gear on Cryo and Ranked because it is intended to challenge you to your limits. As a result of that, it's important that Cryo and Ranked feel like an event you can schedule towards, grind gear up to do, etc. The loop of spend time grinding gear to spend it in Cryo or Ranked is reflected in this choice as a weekly cycle. - Economy Talk: We have some great rewards on Cryo that kind of break the bank when it comes to economy and power gain. If we were to look at having it open all the time, we'd probably have to adjust how frequently you can earn these rewards so that we don't flood the game with amazing loot all of a sudden. - Logistics Time: Cryo and Ranked both have entry requirements (gear ante) that are built around the idea of you matching with other players on an equal investment level. They also both have a high level requirement to ensure you've experienced enough of the game to understand the challenges inherent to the game. This inherently makes the amount of people in that queue at any time unpredictable. Both of these experiences also need a consistent flow of players in the queue to make sure matches are full to retain the challenge. To reduce the match times and allow players to find matches quicker, making it a scheduled event means more players will show up during that window and feed the queue pool better. We also acknowledge that there are likely some who cannot participate on the weekend or are excited about the experience and want to no-life it for weeks, and we appreciate that. We'll be looking into what we can do to retain these considerations and potentially accommodate this in the future. Things we may iterate on in the future: - Staggering Ranked and Cryo queues more so they overlap less - Looking at changing the days we do either Cryo or Ranked - Changing the ante values of Cryo or Ranked - Looking at any other conditions (solo experience, crew fill experience, etc.) and iterating on it! Marathon is an evolving game and part of evolving is seeing how this initial launch plays out and adjusting as we go =). So : -Ranked is only on Weekends -Cryo Archive is ALSO only on weekends -Both Ranked and Cryo Archives are Trio only I think that choice will kill the game. Other maps will be empty on the weekends which is good for casuals, but outside of weekends Marathon will be a dead town.

@StarRailVerse1 I mean yeah, she's the Elation sustain the Sparxie x SW team needs since Sparkle is a must in that team. Will probably put shields that enhance Elation Damage, like a DHPT but for Elation.

@TheTacoTim Don't use crew fill. Ever. Join solo if you don't have 2 mates to run with. Joining solo as non-Rook put you in lower population lobbies. Better than getting two random players who are both expecting a carry.

Granted, this is slightly negated with the introduction of duos into Marathon. It's just not a good feeling to queue in with a kit, find that both of your teammates are free kits, and then you are forced to 1v3 most fights (not to mention said free kit teammates vacuuming up loot like a goddamn Dyson)

@Ganyyuuu Honestly elements have lost almost all meaning at this point, with how many mechanics allow you to break without matching the element, or bosses having 4 weaknesses out of 7 elements

what do yall think about character designs and their attacks not matching the element, do we prefer chars that fit their element or should they be independent to each other

@Wingified1 @SuperMuffinKing @Onepeg Durandal has escaped Marathon, yes. He wasn't able to escape Tau Ceti. Durandal want to fix Marathon because he wants to go back to Earth to flee, and he knows he cannot hijack the various faction's ships.

@SuperMuffinKing @Onepeg That's the same thing imho. Durandal called us here. Durandal watches us through Bingus. Durandal is helping us stabilize the Cryo Archive, but he won't let us on until the UESC has no shot at coming with us. It's all part of Durandal's plan.

@SmojiiTTV It's a raid map. It's meant to be heavy PvE with a side of nonconsensual PvP, versus the first 3 maps who are mostly PvP with a side of PvE. I fully expect the Compilers to be impossible to kill solo for example.
