@MDM2267 @RedWaveCrewHP If on the contract the notice is mandatory, then they can indeed choose to make you leave ASAP, but need to pay you the notice time anyway. If there is no notice mentions or if it's optional or "recommended" etc on the contract, then they can just fire you on the spot.

@venturetwins It's really interesting that Claude, by itself, respected the laws and furthered things as best as it could, but when mixed with crime doers, started to do crimes itself to be able to keep up. Anthropic definitively has the most interesting AI of the bunch.

@ThighNir I will say. I like that they both let us take Cirrus before dropping the Squid MO, enabling the double siege liberation and pushing back of the Bug front, AND made a achievable Squid MO that'll net us 7 planets and ACTUALLY progress the Squid front quite a bit.

@mitsumitsubishi The people surprised/mad at the ban just don't understand how Japanese companies and society works. Branding is paramount there, if you're a bad person you are forbidden from associating with products and companies, and it goes all the way to being banned from locations etc.

@deltaIV9250 Contract can be cancelled with only 90 days notice, not a good look that the only way to be profitable is on a short term contract that can be ended in oen quarter.

This might sound really stupid but the Anthropic deal means xAI isn’t losing money anymore right? At least per last quarter, cause SpaceX said they lost $2.5 billion on AI and apparently Anthropic is gonna pay $3 billion a quarter to them soon. Finance is not my strong suit

@yacineMTB More than that, fully admitting that they got that compute so wrong it can't be used to train frontier models, only to do inference. It's a total admission of failure on the AI front.

@StanphylCap Yeah, I don't understand why everyone is happy about that. It's literally admitting that Colossus-1 is trash to train a frontier model and that they needed a sucker to buy all of that compute power. Meaning that Grok is also trash under the hood since it was trained on it.

Actually, it demonstrates that xAI doesn't have enough demand for all the chips it bought, so it's now stuck in the low-margin data center business.
Elon Musk@elonmusk

As the recently expanded partnership with @AnthropicAI demonstrates, @SpaceX is offering AI compute as a service at significant scale. We are in discussions with other companies to do the same. Over time, especially with orbital data centers, we expect to serve AI at extremely high scale.

Question - If SpaceX, Anthropic & OpenAI have unlimited access to capital in the private markets, and it is well known that being a public company and needing to adhere to SEC regulations is a nightmare, then why would they possibly want to go public? (Yes, I know the answer, just curious who else does too.)

@ZeldaZealot The story is like a Z-movie : so bad it's hilarious. "Unions are good, but right after we make one, all our promises are gone because reality strikes" "We don't want to be seen as cheap clones, but please let us keep being ones for safety reasons, which was the whole point"

@Pivot2Centre Bite the bullet, get 1 to 3 years US bonds, accept the temporary low gains. I fully agree that those IPOs are the top, SpaceX is worth at best 10% of that 2T valuation, and I LOVE SpaceX as a space company. The fact that 90% of their TAM is AI focused is ridiculous.

There is a strong gut feeling in me that wants to exit major equity position on the eve of SpaceX listing. This is akin to Blackstone (2007) and Visa (Q1 2008) IPOs. They cashed out just before the music stopped. Oil prices are high. Politics is gonna switch with the elections. Major IPO cashing out. AI productivity jump is slowly coming out to be nada. The gut feeling is really pushing me towards switching out of equity. The problem is - switch to what. Long duration bonds are suicidal. Short duration bonds aren’t yielding anything. Sitting on cash can be dangerous if the bet is off

Hate to break it to everyone but Vtuber orgies have been going on for MANY years at EVERY con. You’d be surprised the amount of Vtuber/Creator orgies at cons I’ve been invited to. My advice: don’t EVER go to one 👍🏻

@CoinvoTrading The difference is Tesla was valued at almost nothing back in 2010. SpaceX is entering at a 2T valuation. There's no more money to be made long term there. It's all already been made pre-IPO. Will the stock shoot up to 3-4T valuation short term? Maybe. But that's it.

So total for the first 25 years would be 4618 a month. I earn around 6100$ after tax per month. I can easily afford the rent, but I am unable to afford to own as it is almost TWICE as costly per month. That's what's happening everywhere, and why people gave up on their dreams.

I'd also have to add strata fees, property tax and repairs to that monthly, both of which I do NOT pay as a renter. Average strata fee is around 550$ a month for my 1100 sqft unit. Repairs would be 1500 a year or 125 a month. Property tax is around 2300 a year or 192 a month.

@palgarian 28 USD is 28 CAD relative to the country. Many canadians ignore that cost of living is relative to the country for essentials like food. That's also why saying "You earn 35% more in the US than in Canada because of the currency difference" is just plain wrong.
