@harrym_vids did you know the history of the k7 regarding the bluebird project ? found it to be quite a shame that it was chopped up to fit the engine in.

Just checked YouTube stats and latest Harry’s Farm video is doing 10% more views per hour than the latest Harry’s Garage video, that went live 15 hours earlier. Not sure whether I should be pleased or grumpy with this or not ?! 🤷‍♂️

Just watched War Machine on Netflix. I don't think I've ever seen a more formulaic American military ra-ra movie. Oh, and there's alien robots. Kinda mindlessly enjoyable though.

@eevblog Does the EV have an alternator? I'm surprised how low it was, like it was totally drained by something. I got a battery booster when I had a battery fail to take a charge, got the car going so I could get it replaced.

A fully charged EV is ironically dead because of a lead acid battery.

@OBBY001 @oxley264 There's a story about him squaring up to try and fight John Leguizamo on set, I wonder if he had a bigger part and it got smaller because of his behaviour.

@eevblog Indeed, Ive seen the dubbing where the real laughs get swapped out for the canned laughter when it does not hit the mark, or the real audience laughs for too long, it's gotta be my least favourite process when it comes to rerecording.

@SyncroMoose I actually went to a taping of the Big Bang Theory (the episode with Neil Tyson), and I analysed the final release from my recollection of it and we (the audience) laughed when the laugh track laughed, so it wasn't made up. It's processed though, but they do record the audience.

Did anyone else have unreal expectations of the picture quality of this over dialup? It sort of promised reasonable quality watchable video. But I never got very far with it. Did anyone use it for actual video on demand?

Happy 75th birthday to Peter Davison! Here's a still from 'Genesis Of The Sellecks', my favourite Who story from the U.S. series remake. The Doctor (left) finds his hat (foreground). Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart (right) spots Romana in a bikini assembling an M16A2 assault rifle.

Does this mean the days of those MASSIVE film accounts, posting 100s of clips from other people’s accounts by lazily hitting “Post Video” 11 times an hour, are coming to an end? Have you ever wondered how they do it? How does one person: come up with an idea, find a clip, upload it, edit it, research, write a comment, hit post… 11 times an hour? And when do they eat, see their kids, go for a walk, or even use the toilet? I once counted 174 posts from a single film account in one day. Even spread across 24 hours, that’s almost 8 posts an hour. How does a human do that? It’s actually simple, if you have no morals or integrity: they search a film title on X, find someone else’s clip, copy/paste the post, tap “Post Video,” sometimes run the text through AI to change it (many don’t), then hit “Post.” Done in seconds, while trampling smaller accounts in their path. Then they ignore your replies and move straight on to taking someone else’s work. It’s a soulless endeavour. Most of these accounts aren’t interested in film, they’re interested in the market, the Ad revenue, and that's all. One account even said once “I’m going to watch films all day,” then posted mindless drivel 15 times an hour for the next 12 hours. And your comments are wasted: the poster doesn’t read them, and often doesn’t even know what you’re talking about. You’re speaking to a wall. Anyway, rant over. I hope this is the beginning of the end, and we can get back to discussing films like we used to. Here Endeth the Lesson.

All aggregators had their payouts reduced to 60% this cycle. We will add another 20% deduction in the next cycle. It became abundantly clear: flooding the timeline with 100 stolen reposts and clickbait everyday crowded-out real creators and hurt new author growth. The next step is to assign a permanent deduction to habitual bait posters who use “🚨BREAKING”on every post. X will never infringe on speech or reach—but we will not compensate for manipulation of the program or our users.

Air Power
Air Power@RealAirPower1·
On this day in 1965, the UK Labour Government axed the BAC TSR-2 in favor of the General Dynamics F-111. It was the last real attempt by Britain to "single-handedly" design and build a top-tier combat aircraft. A technical marvel that looked like it belonged in the future, the TSR-2 unfortunately became one of aviation’s greatest "what ifs." Even decades later, it’s hard not to wonder how British airpower would have evolved if the "White Bird" had actually entered service. Anyway, #avgeeks, do you think the TSR-2 could have truly outclassed the Aardvark, or was the project just too ambitious for its own good?
