To make this as brief as possible, I will restrict myself to the work of Dr. Balkrishna, member of Royal Historical Society & Principal-Professor of Kolhapur’s Rajaram College, who was patronised not only by Chhatrapati Rajaram III of Kolhapur (Shivaji’s direct descendant) but even the Maratha Rajas of Baroda (Gaikwad), Indore (Holkar) & Mudhol (Ghorpade). Much of the information comes from contemporary farmans preserved by the Ghorpade (senior branch of Bhonsle clan) Royals of Mudhol. So let us begin!

[1/6] 🪡🧵 — Detailed thread refuting the false narrative of temple-destruction by Rajputs in Jodhpur. In his monumental research titled 𝘼𝙮𝙤𝙙𝙝𝙮𝙖 𝙍𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙, Acharya Kishore Kunal has done a great job in dismantling this blatant propaganda peddled by anti-Rajputs.

@Tai_Lung___ Bhai, trust me. My reach remained the same even when I had blue tick. The truth is that my efforts & knowledge mean nothing to our community and I’ve made peace with this. Only a small bunch of my followers truly value the information I share and that is all I need to keep going.

‘𝘽𝙤𝙧𝙣 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙖𝙡 𝙀𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙧’ should be the last ones barking …. By the way, weren’t your Maratha ancestors fighting fellow Hindus in Karnataka for getting ‘four village zamindaris’ from their masters — the Adil Shahi Sultans of Bijapur?

The Mughal dominion expanded under the command of the Rajputs, and in return, the Rajputs got just four village zamindaris. They compromised the entire country to rule over a tiny territory in the desert. Thank the Marathas for using brute force to take back what was rightfully ours! If it weren't for them, the Rajputs would have sold out the whole of India to invaders just to live in their lavish castles!

[6/6] 🪡🧵 — Acharya Kishore Kunal sternly criticises Professor Ali for not realising that when temples had already been demolished and cart-loads of broken idols were presented to the Emperor on 25th May 1669, then how could the Rajputs or Tahir Khan plead before Qazi Hamid or Aurangzeb that the Rajputs were ready to demolish all the temples of Jodhpur and construct mosques instead (that too months later)? He should have discarded this rubbish piece of information incorporated in the Waqai and, In addition, he should have seen the original copy of the 𝙒𝙖𝙦𝙖𝙞-𝙞-𝘼𝙟𝙢𝙚𝙧 instead of the transcript, as admitted by himself. Moreover, when Aurangzeb passed an order confirming the pattas (assignments) granted to Maharaja Jaswant Singh’s sardars (chiefs) in order to placate the them, they declined the offer. Professor M. Athar Ali himself remarks that when pressed by Iftikhar Khan, these Rathore nobles knew they could not resist the imperial army, but still chose to die rather than submit. Therefore, Acharya rightfully comments : “ 𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙛. 𝘼𝙡𝙞 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝙫𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙍𝙖𝙟𝙥𝙪𝙩𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙨𝙖𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙞𝙚, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙢𝙣𝙮 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙖 𝙫𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨 𝙞𝙣𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖 𝙙𝙖𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙨. ”

[5/6] 🪡🧵 — Acharya Kishore Kunal criticises Professor M. Athar Ali for producing such a radical material without cross-examining it from other sources. This becomes clear when we check what 𝙈𝙖𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙧-𝙞-𝘼𝙡𝙖𝙢𝙜𝙞𝙧𝙞 — a contemporary & official Mughal record — has to say regarding the affairs at Jodhpur. 🔸 It mentions that on 25th May 1679, Khan-i-Jahan Bahadur returned from Jodhpur after demolishing temples and bringing with himself some cart-loads of idols. He had audience with the Emperor, who highly praised him and ordered that the idols should be cast in the yard of the Mughal court and under the steps of the Jama Mosque to be trodden on. However, Indar Singh’s appointment as Raja of Jodhpur is given on the exact next day (26th May 1679). This shows that the breaking of temples & idols had already started in the beginning of March 1679 and completed by 25th May 1679 ie before Indar Singh's appointment as Raja of Jodhpur and the supposed offer of temple-demolition by Rajputs. 🔸 The cart-loaded broken idols had already reached Delhi from Jodhpur on 25th May 1679. It must have taken considerable time in demolishing all temples, breaking the idols and carrying them in carts to Delhi. Then how is it even possible that Rani Hadi & Rathor nobles were begging Aurangzeb's officers to show them favour by demolishing temples in lieu of the installation of Jaswant Singh's son upon the Marwar throne months later in June & July 1679? Moreover, Indar Singh had already received the Mughal ‘tika’ on 26th May 1679 ie one day after the cart-loaded broken idols reached Delhi.
