I just watched drone footage from southern Lebanon, & the devastation is staggering. Entire villages flattened, homes turned to rubble. It’s not mere destruction, it’s nothing short of absolute erasure. Even if we indulge the hypothetical, that Israel’s war was purely a response to Hezbollah’s actions after October 8, how do they explain this scale of annihilation? With all their precision weapons & advanced targeting, they’ve proven they can strike exactly when & where they want. So how do they, or anyone else for that matter, justify bombing entire towns off the map? The footage doesn’t just expose the damage, it exposes the intent; this was never about self-defence. It was a deliberate campaign to crush the South & to make it uninhabitable. And watching this now, it’s impossible not to feel rage, grief, & betrayal, not just at the silence of the international community, but at the voices within Lebanon who still insist on defending the indefensible. If this is what “legitimate defence” looks like, & if this is what the world accepts as “security,” then it’s not just justice that has been buried under the rubble; language itself has lost all meaning.
