SSG participated in the Vision for Adapted Crops and Soils Project (VACS) review and planning meeting at the Center for International Forestry Research and World Agroforestry (ICRAF) campus in Nairobi.

while withstanding drought and winning over consumers with its strong aroma and long grains. Farmers say they can sell Exbaika at nearly double the usual price, and it’s already become the centerpiece of government rice programs and premium brands like “Riz des Chefs.”

In just a few seasons, one rice variety has changed everything for Togolese farmers. Exbaika, first introduced from Ghana in 2022, is now delivering up to 8 tons per hectare in farmers’ fields – more than triple Togo’s national average –
