@VersaceChopstik @mdotbrown The difference depends mostly on your TV and audio setup. If your TV doesn't have dolby vision and is on the smaller side and you're using a soundbar or (shudder) TV speakers, the difference will be negligible. A nice setup and you'll see a big difference.

@jmwilt21 @CraigKoban They have a much longer shelf life than hard drives do, especially large capacity mechanical ones with the space required to store hundreds of thousands of 4k/bluray rips. To say nothing of the huge time commitment to rip them all.

Netflix just received a near $3 billion payout termination fee from Paramount after they outbid them for WB. Then Netflix raised subscription fees. My 4K UHD BD player and my entire physical media collection has never looked more appealing.
