I've just recorded an interview with Fransesca Albanese. I asked her to respond to Netanyahu's threat of a lawsuit. Her response..."First of all, Netanyahu is a wanted person. He should be speaking from The Hague."

Here’s an interesting fact: My friend in Korea on a work visa, and it’s valid for one year. Every year, she has to prove to Korean immigration that she is still medically fit, that she haven’t committed any crimes during that year, and that she is still employed in order for them to renew her visa. They will only renew her visa if she can prove that she is of good use to their country. Furthermore, if during that year she decide to move from her apartment to a new one for any reason, she has 14 days to go back to immigration and inform them that she have changed her address. If she is even a day late and go on day 16, she will have to pay a fine, which can cost anything from R2,000 to R13,000. As a South African, she is also not allowed to participate in any protests happening in the country. If there is a crowd of Korean people protesting for whatever reason, she cannot be found in that crowd because she could be deported. Before she got her Korean ID, she wasn’t even able to own a korean cellphone number or even order anything online. She is therefore in this country legally, and she makes sure that she abide by their laws because she know that if she doesn't, she will be sent back home with no negotiations. Does this mean Korea is xenophobic? No. This is a country making sure that its citizens and the country itself are protected. A country making sure that guests know their place! Why are South Africans being made to feel bad for wanting the same thing?

Imagine if all medical professionals in the world empathised with their Palestinian colleagues unlawfully detained by Apartheid Israel, and rose, with one voice, for their liberation. The possibility to turn this genocide into a victory for humanity lies in small, replicated steps
Physicians for Human Rights Israel (PHRI)@PHRIsrael

Yesterday, a lawyer on our behalf visited four physicians from Gaza currently detained at Ktzi’ot Prison: Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, Dr. Muhammad Ubaid, Dr. Murad Alkuka, and Dr. Akram Abu Odeh. All four are being held without charge. All four physicians reported that there has been no improvement in either the quality or quantity of the inadequate food provided in prison. One physician reported losing 35 kilograms (77 pounds) over the past two years. In recent months, the physicians have also reported being brought before court hearings during which their detention was extended indefinitely, despite no charges being filed against them. Two described hearings lasting only a few minutes and taking place without legal representation. They further stated that prison guards confiscate their mattresses every morning and return them only in the evening, forcing them to sit all day on the floor or on metal bed frames. Two of the physicians said they need glasses after prison guards confiscated their own, yet repeated requests for replacements have been ignored. Two others reported medical issues that remain untreated. The physicians also described recurring outbreaks of skin diseases among the prison population. Hygiene conditions remain dire. They are held in severe overcrowding, provided with only a single set of clothing that they are not able to wash, and denied access to cleaning supplies. Following our petition to the High Court of Justice demanding the physicians’ release from unlawful detention, the state said it would submit its response within two weeks. PHRI calls for the immediate withdrawal of the arrest warrants against these physicians, and urges local and international organizations to take action to secure their release, so they may return home and resume their life-saving work. #ReleaseThe14Doctors

Awad Al-Shammari, an Iraqi shepherd, was found dead after reporting that he had seen an Israeli base. The base was secretly built inside of Iraq, a violation of the nations sovereignty & was reportedly used throughout the war on Iran to coordinate strikes. A shepherd responsible for reporting its existence has just been found dead. Israel is suspected of killing the Iraqi citizen on the nations own soil, an act of war against Iraq, in addition to the establishment of a base there.

My passport, will expire in July. I've had to go to the SA embassy here in China to apply for a new one. Generally, it is advised to apply for the renewal at least 8 MONTHS in advance. Not knowing this has led me to pay quite a hefty amount to ensure that the process is expedited from back home. When my passport returns, I'm supposed to go to the Chinese Migration office to have a new visa stamped on it. Then I need to go to the police station to redeclare my residential address. There are few other steps that I have to fulfill to ensure that my new passport reflects on every system I use here in China. One thing I've noticed, even from other foreigners from other African countries who are here, they carry this panic feeling whenever they have to renew their visas... It's a stressful and rigorous process. I've met quite a number of them who are here on study Visas. If they miss a couple of classes, they are in trouble. Because what else are you doing besides being a student? THIS is a result of an EFFECIENT immigration control system. If you are found to have overstayed your welcome, you are deported with no discussions, no protests, no negotiations or greasing of the palms... You HAVE to go! Meanwhile in my home country...
