@LauraNoraLou @drpratikc @DVLAgovuk Mine’s 7 weeks now and it was an online application - seems they must have a big backlog but not admitting this. But if it really takes much longer than 8 weeks then DVLA should send the renewal notice earlier ….

Very frustrating trying to find out what’s happening with medical driving Licence renewal - last time less than 3 weeks, this time big black hole and no timescale or feedback or reason for why it’s taking so long. Yet another T1D drain on my time @drpratikc @DVLAgovuk

Really positive appointment with my new GP yesterday - I know many feel they are well looked after by diabetes clinic team but for me my GP is very important to look after potential health issues other than diabetes. I felt well supported and happy.

@claireh5611 @JimMooreJourno They’ve mostly learnt their lesson I think. Was diagnosed January 1980. Was told cure in 5 years & I couldn’t have kids as I might die. The cherry on top was the “if you don’t look after yourself they’ll chop your legs off”

False hope is not kind especially to a child. I was told there would be a cure in 5 years for T1. I’m still waiting 40 years later.

A reminder - again- to media colleagues #Prevention & discussion of that (or 'remission') - When talking in context of #Diabetes- kindly mention Type #T2Diabetes Why? Cos otherwise to a child with #T1D who may not understand “context”? It’s giving false hope And unfair Amongst many other things Thank you

My review with GP 4 months after new pump with HCL remarked my hba1c had risen to 50 so hopefully this is just a blip after Xmas...I said I was celebrating it because it means the HCL has been working well to remove my problematic overnight extended hypo periods 😜

What can I buy for my elderly aunt for Christmas? She is almost completely housebound. Doesn't really have hobbies. Always send her food so need something a bit different but am struggling.
