#NDAM Hi Guys I'm working with a new steering group for #T1DE across Wales and it's really important to have patient input. If you have experience of having treatment for T1DE in Wales and would like to join the group (it's v minimal commitment) I'll happily support you #GBDoc

@DrNotDrYet_Jacq @T1DERecovery I would say that weight loss became a joint focus along with BG management, and they swapped places depending on which one was more anxiety inducing. At its worst, I felt I had to sacrifice my BGs and/or return to a larger size than I wanted, or continue losing weight forever 😕

@DrNotDrYet_Jacq @1Paulcoker @1Paulcoker Correct @DrNotDrYet_Jacq It's about the motivation to lose weight or change shape. It might be the case that it doesn't initially start out with this motivation, but develops into it or that is the intention from the beginning.

@1Paulcoker I think it comes down to whether behavior becomes entirely motivated by weight and shape Paul, like for example anyone untrained looking at how I eat would be concerned until they realised I had gastroparesis but @T1DERecovery can confirm

@mo_wootten @DrNotDrYet_Jacq @mo_wootten At this stage we are looking for individuals where there the main focus is/was on weight management and/or where there was a fear about weight gain/body shape.

@DrNotDrYet_Jacq Thanks for sharing this Jacq 🙂 @T1DERecovery would it be useful to hear from people who did these behaviours primarily to manage BGs without directly skipping insulin, and with weight management initially being a byproduct?

@amanda_wogan @DrNotDrYet_Jacq A good question. One of the aims of this research is to understand how people would define recovery using their own words. We are looking for anyone who feels they have recovered or are in recovery.
