@Hon_aremo Not every lecturer sells handouts, you’ll be surprised that some even help less privileged students out of their little income.

Nigerian lecturers salary don turn “from suffering to premium suffering” 😭 Updated CONUASS estimates after Tinubu’s wage adjustments: • Graduate Assistant — ₦170k–₦220k/month • Assistant Lecturer — ₦200k–₦250k • Lecturer II — ₦250k–₦300k • Lecturer I — ₦350k–₦400k • Senior Lecturer — ₦520k–₦570k • Reader/Associate Professor — ₦600k–₦750k • Professor — ₦850k–₦1m+ Imagine schooling for 10–15 years, publishing journals, supervising projects, surviving ASUU strikes… just to finally become “upper middle class” at age 50 😭 No wonder every lecturer is either selling handouts, running consultancy or saying “my friend in Canada…” 💀

One of my classmates sent out his CV last week and got a response from the MD of a company last night, inviting him for an interview by 9 a.m. today. Around 7 a.m. this morning, the MD called him again and said the interview venue had changed, but the time remained the same. Luckily for him, the new location was even closer to where he lives. He got there about 10 minutes before 9 a.m. and was told to wait a little. By 9:15 a.m., he called the MD just to let him know he had arrived. The man told him to wait another 10 minutes because he was in a meeting. My classmate waited… and waited. After over one hour and twenty minutes, he quietly carried his bag and left. About 15 minutes later, the MD called him and asked where he was. My classmate replied, “Sir, I already left.” The man sounded shocked and asked why he would leave after being told to wait. My classmate replied: “I have other commitments today, sir. I can’t work for someone who doesn’t respect time.” The MD replied, "That was the interview and you failed". Was my classmate too impatient?

They wore the uniform and committed the very crimes they promised to prevent. This is difficult to say, but it needs to be said clearly and openly. Some officers of the Nigeria Police Force have been caught running criminal groups in Rivers State. They abducted people during fake patrols, forced access to victims' bank accounts and cryptocurrency wallets, extorted millions, kidnapped, and committed armed robbery. They did this in uniform, using police vehicles, and targeted the very people they were meant to protect. The Nigeria Police Force, led by IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc (+), NPM, will not ignore these actions. Syndicate One, Zone 16, Yenagoa: Inspector Ayanniyi Jelili, Inspector Durojaye Francis, and Inspector Olayemi Titus have been arrested. Three accomplices are still at large and are being actively pursued. Police recovered three Toyota Sienna buses and ₦7,338,800 linked to these crimes. Syndicate Two, Rivers State Command: Inspector John Okoi, Inspector Eyibo Asuquo, Inspector Udo Ndipmong, Inspector Bright Nwachukwu, and Inspector Anele Ikechukwu have been dismissed. Their case has been sent for prosecution. The charges include conspiracy, armed robbery, kidnapping, extortion, and official corruption. This is a real and necessary internal cleansing. It is painful, but no rank will protect a criminal in this Force. If you have suffered because of bad officers, please report it. Your voice helps ensure accountability.
Nigeria Police Force@PoliceNG

NIGERIA POLICE FORCE INTENSIFIES INTERNAL CLEANSING, DISMISSES CORRUPT OFFICERS, PROSECUTES PERSONNEL INVOLVED IN KIDNAPPING, ROBBERY, EXTORTION The Nigeria Police Force has reaffirmed its commitment to discipline, accountability, and institutional reform with the dismissal, arrest, and prosecution of police personnel found involved in cases of conspiracy, armed robbery, kidnapping, extortion, stealing, and abuse of office in Rivers State and its environs. The Force notes that the actions of the affected officers represent a gross betrayal of the ethics, standards, and professional values of the Nigeria Police Force. The leadership of the Force under the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc (+), NPM, remains resolute in its determination to identify, expose, and remove criminal elements from within the institution, irrespective of rank or position. Investigations into one of the cases uncovered a criminal syndicate involving serving police officers attached to Zone 16 Headquarters, Yenagoa, namely Inspector Ayanniyi Jelili, Inspector Durojaye Francis, and Inspector Olayemi Titus, who allegedly engaged in armed robbery, kidnapping, and extortion while operating illegal patrols within Port Harcourt. The officers reportedly abducted victims during unlawful stop-and-search operations, forcefully gained access to their banking and cryptocurrency applications, and extorted millions of naira from them. The investigation led to the arrest of the three officers, while three other accomplices identified as Inspector Awele Ogbogu, Inspector Prosper Aghotor, and Corporal Favour Onwuchekwa are currently at large. Exhibits recovered include three Toyota Sienna buses used for the illegal operations and the sum of ₦7,338,800.00 traced to the criminal activities. Findings further revealed that the suspects operated with firearms and had allegedly carried out similar operations against unsuspecting members of the public within Rivers State. In a separate investigation, the Force uncovered another criminal syndicate involving officers formerly attached to the Department of Operations, Rivers State Command, namely Inspector John Okoi, Inspector Eyibo Asuquo, Inspector Udo Ndipmong, Inspector Bright Nwachukwu, and Inspector Anele Ikechukwu, who engaged in organised acts of kidnapping, extortion, stealing, and official corruption. The dismissed officers were found to have routinely abducted citizens, extorted money through unlawful transfers from victims’ bank and cryptocurrency accounts, and dispossessed them of valuables while operating under the guise of official patrol duties. Consequently, the five implicated officers were subjected to orderly room proceedings and dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force, while the case file has been forwarded for prosecution on charges bordering on conspiracy, armed robbery, kidnapping, extortion, official corruption, and related offences. Members of the public are encouraged to continue reporting cases of police misconduct, abuse of office, extortion, and human rights violations through established complaint channels for prompt investigation and action. The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to a professional, transparent, accountable, and service-driven policing system firmly rooted in the rule of law and the protection of citizens’ rights. Which two brokerage firms are retail investors currently complaining about on NGX Space? One starts with "B" and is known for lagging price movements/glitches, while the other, starting with "A" has serious allegations of unauthorized stock sales. Who can mention them in the replies? VFD was trading at N269 in 2023, today it is trading at N10.9 If you had invested N1m in 2023, it would be worth N1.3m today. Not because of any capital gains but due to bonus issue. Step-by-step calculation (assuming ₦250 purchase price) 🔸Shares purchased: ₦1,000,000 ÷ ₦250 = 4,000 shares. 🔸Corporate actions (bonuses) — these increased your share count at no extra cost: 🔸June 2024: 4-for-1 bonus (4 new shares for every 1 held) → shares become 4,000 × 5 = 20,000 shares. 🔸April 2025: 5-for-1 bonus (5 new shares for every 1 held; qualification April 22, 2025,) → shares become 20,000 × 6 = 120,000 shares today. 🔸Current market value of shares (as of latest close ~₦10.40): 120,000 × ₦10.40 ≈ ₦1,248,000. Are you holding this stock?

The recent malpractice allegedly perpetrated by @Afrinvest against their customers should have warranted a class-action lawsuit. But as always, Nigerians have a way of overlooking abuses.

The best thing that happened to me was moving my stocks from @Afrinvest to another broker. Look at this screenshot I just took now from the Afrinvest app. Since 2025 till now as I’m writing this, these trades are still showing as “Pending,” “Executing,” and “Booked.” Meanwhile, these orders were cancelled a long time ago. Just imagine using a brokerage platform that cannot even properly update its own system and order history. Whats the duty of @CSCSNigeria ? Abi it’s just to collect only fee they sabi?

@Afrinvest severely damaged my portfolio under the guise of a “glitch” which, frankly, appears far more deliberate than accidental. Till today, there has been no transparent explanation, accountability, or resolution. The claim that “thousands” were affected and therefore, the delay in fixing the problem raises even more questions because there is barely any visible public outcry from these supposed victims. The attention of @CSCSNigeria and @fccpcnigeria has been drawn to this matter repeatedly, yet nothing meaningful has been done. This level of silence and negligence is unacceptable

@gentlemanway007 @nazzaokonkwo @MeristemNigeria Afrinvest kept my withdrawal pending for more than 10 days, money i wanted to use for shares on another platform after they messed up my portfolio with unauthorized transactions. At least, we are beginning to identify wrong brokerage apps to avoid them like plague.

Bamboo vs Trove: One app makes investing feel like opening a savings account. The other makes you feel like a Wall Street intern 😭 Cowrywise users: “Slow steady wealth.” Trove users: “I just bought Tesla, NGX, ETFs & crypto before breakfast.” Risevest users are thinking 10 years ahead. Bamboo users are trying to survive dollar inflation today. Meanwhile Afrinvest & Meritrade users type things that look like JAMB registration passwords 😭 Funny thing is… Most Nigerians don’t want “investing.” They want an app that helps them escape ₦1,500/$ reality faster. Which stock app has the strongest users? 👀
