@brasstracks Yeah that’s always a challenge....check out the Chaka records that Arif Mardin produced. A lot of times, he’d have a bass player slapping/popping, AND a synth bass maybe even playing a different part, no conflict because they just don’t occupy the same sonic space.

feels like no matter what I do with EQ or compression on this mother fucker I can not get it to sing between 70 and 90

anyone know any cool tricks to get a live bass with slap accents to come out a bit more in the 70-80 hz range? please don’t reply back with EQ lol
