@C_NyaKundiH But what am thinking, considering that she was on the previous cover of the parents, then automatically, the waiting period ought to have been waived hence the idea of waiting period wasn't to be an issue, maybe Just maybe, there's something between the two parties. APA talk !!!

Mother’s Desperate Plea for Justice After APA Insurance Denied Her Daughter Critical Medical Treatment I've just received this chilling tale from a mother who has been left reeling after a harrowing experience with APA Insurance Company. Her daughter who is a college graduate purchased a personal medical cover with APA in February this year. This policy was supposed to provide her with peace of mind knowing that she was protected in case of any medical emergencies. But little did she know that APA had other plans. “Hey Nyakundi. My name is Angela and I have an issue with the APA insurance company that I am requesting you to post on your timeline. After graduating from college last year, my daughter was not eligible to be under her dad's medical cover, so we bought a personal cover with APA insurance company. We paid a premium of Ksh 60,424 to cover Ksh 75,000 outpatient and Ksh 500,000 inpatient. This was sometime in February this year. So early this month she felt unwell and went to one of AAR clinics where she was treated. A week later, she had not improved so she consulted with a gastroenterologist on June 10. He requested an endoscopy to establish where the problem was. APA declined to approve the request stating that they do not pay for surgical procedures before a waiting period of 12 months elapses. This was not mentioned before we paid the premium. My first question is… 1. Is endoscopy a surgical procedure? We paid out of pocket for the procedure, and they also declined to authorize the purchase of prescription drugs after the procedure. Upon further inquiries, they claim that in 2018, while in college, the girl was treated for the same ailment, so to them, that's a chronic illness. But she has never been treated for that ailment before. 2. Why should a person pay such a premium only to be told that you can't be treated until after a 12-month waiting period during which you'll be required to renew your contract? Imagine this is a young person out of college with no income and they are being treated this way. Anyone willing to purchase an individual medical cover with APA insurance, just don't try. Oh, I almost forgot to add that you also have to co-pay for consultation, which was never mentioned at the time of purchase. These people are thieves!” This story exposes the firm's penchant for deceit and exploitation. A warning to all Kenyans who dare to trust their health to this unscrupulous outfit.

@C_NyaKundiH There's a truth that family is not telling here, anyway,I don't work for insurance companies, but last time I checked, endoscopy is a surgical procedure and all chronic cases have a waiting period of between 6 to 12 months.

@Ibrahim_AhmedN @C_NyaKundiH @APAInsuranceKE Some clients are usually frustrated and the public will support shaming companies.Clients are usually given basic education to contracts and if the conditions don't favour them , they come out distorting every detail.

@C_NyaKundiH @APAInsuranceKE shame on you. So you don't apply the principle of Uberrimae Fidei in operations? This is crazy and we shall hold you accountable for anything that happens to the young lady. Muache utapeli

@VonPula @C_NyaKundiH Premiums are calculated based on parameters..limit of coverage and the age bracket.with the increased cost of treatment actuarial models are revised to match the market demand and the cost of availability of services

Teachers across Kenya are clueless on this CBC program. They have not been adequately equipped with the skills on this program. They can speak for themselves here. No one knows what they are doing. Wanatapatapa tu gizani
