Don McMahon was one of the most underrated relief pitchers of all time. McMahon was used almost exclusively in relief during his 18-year major league career. He appeared in 874 games, just two as a starter, and was one of the busiest and most dependable relievers of his era. He never was on the disabled list, and in the fifteen full seasons that he played (1958–1972), he averaged about 54 games and 81 innings pitched per year. From 1972 to 1974, he was the Giants pitching coach and still pitched out of pen registering 11 saves. Don passed away on July 22, 1987, after having a massive heart attack while pitching batting practice for the Dodgers.

@NHKathySullivan Actually, in NH (and most states), girls may play on boys high school teams if the sport is not offered to their gender. Baseball is a boys sport in NHIAA competition, so girls may try out if they like. (No one is guaranteed a spot on a team roster, regardless of gender.)
