The project comprises two VVER‑1200 reactors with a combined capacity of 2,400 MW, supporting the nation’s long‑term energy needs. Tata Consulting Engineers has been associated with the project since 2020, contributing to the Turbine Island through civil design review and site supervision services. Our role has focused on enabling quality execution across this critical part of the plant. The completion of Air India’s aviation academy in Gurgaon marks an important step in building strong aviation training infrastructure in India. It is encouraging to receive recognition from Air India as this campus moves into operation. Set within a 12‑acre site, the academy brings together simulator facilities, classrooms, and specialised training spaces within a carefully planned campus environment. Designed to work as one connected whole, the campus supports varied training needs while remaining practical to operate on a daily basis. Net Zero pathways for heavy industry demand a broader lens, one that looks beyond power and into the realities of how industrial processes actually function. Speaking at the GH2 Summit 2026, Atul Choudhari, CTO, Tata Consulting Engineers, said that industries operating in a molecular domain need molecular solutions. A historic milestone in India’s civil nuclear journey. The 500 MWe Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor at Kalpakkam has successfully achieved criticality, marking the transition to the second stage of the national nuclear programme. This achievement enables plutonium recycling and lays the foundation for future thorium utilisation under a closed fuel cycle strategy. Tata Consulting Engineers is proud to have contributed to this landmark achievement. TCE provided civil and structural design, piping and electrical engineering, and instrumentation systems for reactor auxiliaries. The team also supported procurement and commissioning activities for critical systems, working across multiple disciplines to meet the highest standards of safety, precision and reliability required for advanced nuclear infrastructure. Spread across 12 acres with over 210,000 sq ft of built space, the project brings together simulator training centres, academic spaces, and specialised facilities within a clearly structured campus plan.
