⚠️⚠️⚠️PSA!!!⚠️⚠️⚠️ If you're on a tight budget, you may want to commission an artist who has little experience with model art and has affordable prices. However if you then commission a high skilled rigger (or any rigger really!), you may introduce a lot of delays and issues into the rigging process thanks to poorly separated art. I recommend everyone with a small budget to also commission a .psd prep service from someone else. They're often more experienced, they'll organize your file and fix any issues your artist may have left, and there's a lot of affordable cutting/fixing services on VGen (not sponsored). It's 100% worth it because any rigger will have to work extra hard with unoptimized art, it'll take longer and may cost way more than just getting someone to prep it before. Please do this❗️ And inexperienced artists, please learn to separate models well! There's a lot of free AND paid resources online, and many people will be willing to help you for free/small fee. You'll in turn help many people by learning better separation techniques, and some basic ideas as well. PSA over, thank you for coming to my TED talk!

Among Japanese Live2D riggers, experts who specialize in separating parts are hot topic. #Live2D This Live2D rigger, Noru-san, received separated art from a client. When they open the file to start rigging, they realized the separation is not eough to rig a wide mobility Live2D model... They required the client to separate more the art, but the client got mad, "That can't be right. I paid a professional parts separator to do it. This is exploitation! I'm suing!" Regarding separating Vtuber art, this kind of problem sometimes happen. In this case, I think this separation doesn't reach to the quality for high movility Live2D model. It's better to confrim how detailed separation they do before start the commissions to avoid some troubles, but It's difficult to ask clients without Live2D knowledge how the parts are divided. I hope the exparts watch more Live2D separation tutorials.
