Changing the Narrative at Eastwood Middle 💙
At @emsstampede, something special is happening.
Through their House Games, students are building more than just friendly competition—they’re building teamwork, positivity, and a strong sense of community. These games bring students together across grade levels to encourage one another, celebrate good citizenship, and show what it means to represent their house with pride.
Students are placed into one of four Houses — Shujaa, Akili, Tuska, or Imara — and proudly represent their teams throughout the school year. These Swahili names reflect the school’s core values: Justice, Critical Thinking, Integrity, and Resilience.
The focus isn’t just on winning—it’s on supporting one another, demonstrating positive behavior, and creating a school culture where students feel connected and encouraged. It's helped lower absenteeism rates, improve student behavior and grades.
Moments like these are helping shape the story of Eastwood Middle every day. When students work together, lift each other up, and take pride in their school, it creates the kind of environment where everyone can thrive.
At Eastwood Middle, teamwork, positivity, and pride are leading the way.
