You cannot test the correctness of AI using AI. A simple line, but one that sparked several thoughtful conversations while hosting students from @iitbombay at our Tata Research Development and Design Centre (TRDDC) Pune. The visit went beyond demonstrations, opening up rich conversations on agentic AI, statistical thinking, sustainability, mobility, and how applied research shows up in the real world. What stood out most was not just the technology, but the learning that emerged through dialogue, where human judgement, curiosity, and intelligent systems came together to unpack complex problems. Engaging with such sharp, inquisitive young minds was energising and reaffirms why creating spaces for exposure, discussion, and shared learning with the next generation of innovators truly matters. UWB tracking is prone to indoor errors. Our researchers patented a novel method that smooths raw location data using a moving average and applies a multivariate model to calculate precise correction factors like bias and scale. This delivers high-accuracy location (X', Y') for critical asset and people tracking. Know more in the #patent: bit.ly/4eMVZfx @TCS #Research #Localization #Radiofrequency

What will it take for enterprises to stay resilient in a world being shaped by AI, automation, and clean energy? In the final episode of Navigating the Future of Technology, Dr Harrick Vin, Ray Wang, and Shivani Sharma explore why breaking organizational silos is essential to scale AI and transform value chains. They discuss how intelligent agents and robots will collaborate with people inside adaptive, AI-enabled enterprises. The episode also looks at the growing importance of clean and abundant energy, and how prosumer-driven models are reshaping the next generation of dynamic enterprises. Urban logistics is going electric, but routing EV fleets is a nightmare because of charging delays, battery limits, and rising costs. Our researchers have successfully developed a novel patented solution that flips the problem. One learning agent plans deliveries, 10-minute battery swaps, and sells energy back to the grid, turning bottlenecks into profit. To know more, visit- bit.ly/48JXiIm @TCS #Research #Inventingforimpact #Mobility #Patent

The future of art experiences is here. What if your sketch could be the key to exploring a renowned artist’s masterpieces? MUNCH museum and @TCS are transforming how Edvard Munch’s 7,000+ drawings are discovered and experienced through Project New Snow – an AI enabled experience. This experience lets visitors create their own digital drawings and discover how AI connects them to Munch’s original works through motif, texture, shading, and more. A new interactive exhibition - 'Edvard Munch: Connect the Lines', will be opening at MUNCH Museum, Oslo in June. MUNCH Museum and TCS invite visitors to explore Edvard Munch’s drawings in an innovative way and know more about his legacy. Through this collaboration, thousands of fragile and previously unseen archive works from Munch’s collection have been made accessible to audiences worldwide. Mental health needs continuity, not episodic care. During our recent COIN collaboration with @iitropar for a mental wellness session, our scientists shared our research on behavioral science, games, sensing, and AI to support real‑world wellbeing and bridge gaps between acute care and long‑term wellness. #MentalWellbeing #TCSResearch #TCSCOIN #IITRopar

In critical telecommunication applications, even a minimal delay can be critical, yet traditional scheduling mechanisms prioritize throughput over end-to-end latency. Our researchers patented a "delay-aware uplink scheduling" system that calculates downlink and processing delays to create a strict uplink budget, ensuring critical data arrives on time, every time. The questions young minds ask often influence the research that follows. Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting 95 first-year Computer Science students from @iitmadras at TCS Research & Innovation Labs, Chennai for an immersive visit. From our innovation deep dives into cutting-edge research to candid conversations on careers, internships, and life in applied research, the energy in the room was unmistakable. What stood out most was their curiosity. Sharp questions on AI, computational sciences, and emerging technologies, and genuine excitement about building impact-driven careers in research and innovation. Engaging with young minds like these reinforces why industry–academia collaboration matters. It is where ideas spark early, talent connects with purpose, and the next generation of innovators begins its journey. Here’s to more conversations, collaborations, and careers in the making!
