@artofanndr @crea_tiffany I'm sorry. You do realise that anybody can take your art, screenshot it/downlaod it, feed it to an AI image gen, and then say "Give me more art in this style" (more or less), and then just generate your style forever and ever.

Kingdom Come Deliverance II localization dev says he was fired and replaced with AI.

A browser-based interactive fiction experiment where a mythical book builds your identity through questions

I’ve been experimenting with a piece of browser-based interactive fiction that takes the form of an in-world book.
Instead of choosing a class or clicking through a normal character creator, you answer a series of questions and the book gradually shapes who you are in the setting. It gives you your nature, homeland, and path through the world, so the character creation is happening through the writing and choices themselves.
Part of what I’m trying to do with it is make the world feel like it’s revealing itself through the questions, instead of stopping everything for a lore dump.
There’s also a 3D space around the book, you're literally on the planet Funkatron, but the core thing I’m interested in feedback on is the interactive fiction side of it. Does this kind of choice-based identity-building feel interesting as IF, or does it sound like it leans too far into worldbuilding / character creator territory?
I hope to keep adding to it over time, adding more classes/races etc. I've already written and created so much of Funkatron, and now I'm trying to bring it to life in strange ways like this.

We would like to address questions regarding the use of AI in Crimson Desert.
During development, some 2D visual props were created as part of early-stage iteration using experimental AI generative tools. These assets helped us rapidly explore tone and atmosphere in the earlier phases of production. However, our intention has always been for any such assets to be replaced, following final work and review by our art and development teams, with work that aligned with our quality standards and creative direction.
Following reports from our community, we have identified that some of these assets were unintentionally included in the final release. This is not in line with our internal standards, and we take full responsibility for it.
We also acknowledge that we should have clearly disclosed our use of AI. While these tools were primarily used during early production, with the expectation that these assets would be replaced prior to release, we recognize that this does not excuse the lack of transparency.
We sincerely apologize for these oversights.
We are currently conducting a comprehensive audit of all in-game assets and are taking steps to replace any affected content. Updated assets will be rolled out in upcoming patches. In parallel, we are reviewing and strengthening our internal processes to ensure greater transparency and consistency in how we communicate with players moving forward.

Anonymous devs from Pearl Abyss have revealed the troubled development of Crimson Desert. The game began as an MMO prequel to Black Desert Online but was later converted to a single-player title after years of work. In its final stages, major leadership changes triggered significant story rewrites including renaming the protagonist and scrapping key mercenary elements. These last-minute shifts left the game with a disjointed narrative, mismatched features, and overly cluttered controls. The issues were only finalized shortly before launch.

We're in this weird phase where "sounding human" means deliberately writing a little sloppy. Avoid perfect grammar, throw in fragments, skip the fancy punctuation, maybe even misspell something on purpose. It's like the opposite of what writing used to reward.
