Welcome back to #AskAFuneralDirector! Today Phil will be answering - "Are there really two coffins on a hearse at any one time?"

@WhyteBridee1 Hi Brian. No part of any coffin we supply is recycled by us in cremation or burial services. The answer Phil gave was that we confirm the coffins we use are up to the cremation standards proving that we do cremate coffins and caskets.

@TCribb_sons I think Phil is swerving the question here… he talks about the construction of coffins but that doesn’t really answer the do you “recycle” them question.

Undertakers had many tools of the trade - these gravers belonged to Stan Cribb from @TCribb_sons 🎩 Dating back to around the 1940s, they were part of a "riddling kit" and used to engrave the name plates on the lids of coffins ⚰ #NationalFuneralMuseum
