@TD471948 @gman5180 If I'm thinking about this right, chattel slavery was institutionalized by the government... technically the colonial & and american governments are or were at fault because it didn't stop early on. The government ended importing slaves but a war finally ended it for good.

@hjjr1957 @gman5180 Much of the African slave trade was supported and still comes from Muslim countries. So it’s not just white people that were a part of the problem. There were many black and Muslim people involved.

@hjjr1957 @gman5180 How do you trace the lineage of those who were slaves and who were slave owners? How do you find the tribes that captured and sold slaves. It was also white northerners who fought to end slavery. All slavery is wrong but the idea or reparations is not feasible.
