I disagree. Professionalism is a core @acgme competency. The vast majority of posts by trainees actively contribute to the conversation on public health & social justice. There are many PDs active on #SoMe Missed opportunity if you don’t review

Still crazy that a baby can survive a #surgery resident gestation that included a TB scare, the #flu, cardiac arrhythmia, broken metatarsal w/boot x 6wks, & oligohydramnios with incr risk stillbirth so 37wk #preemie. And yet 2yrs later: here she is. #medtwitter

@TomVargheseJr Yes and. Somehow we have to make space for people of different shapes & styles. Proscribed “this is the way to dress for success” means we exclude some future superstars & exacerbate unconscious bias. Hard problem to solve.

All things are negotiable, but it's hard to win everything. Choose what's important to you. Negotiating for research time, facilities, support staff, etc can be just as important as salary. Also often pays off more in the long run. #CTCareers
