reminder that jkr is not like your aunt who doesn’t get they/them pronouns, she is a vicious anti trans activist who has literally rolled back trans rights in the UK and has extensively harmed myself and my community, and even indirectly killed some of us.

Making the separating the art from the artist argument with JK Rowling is hilarious. You’re adults talking about Harry Potter. Have some self respect.

“wuthering heights” was 0/10 because for a movie claiming to be a freakier version of the book, it didn’t even adapt heathcliff digging up cathy’s grave, one of the freakiest things in the book…..

18 years ago today, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon officially released his debut album ‘For Emma, Forever Ago.’ Vernon had recorded it alone the winter prior, retreating to his father's log cabin in northeastern Wisconsin. His band of ten years had dissolved, his relationship had ended, and months of illness had left him bedridden in North Carolina. What followed was three months of solitude, chopping firewood, hunting deer, and slowly building the album using a brittle 1960s Sears catalog guitar he had found on eBay while sick in bed. Vernon originally considered the recordings demos and planned to re-record them, but he eventually put them on MySpace, self-releasing them as they were. Vernon later explained that the songs became a process of excavation. "The word I always use is excavate," he said. "Dig it out and see what it is, and get it to the oxygen where it can burn away and leave." The cabin made that possible — though Vernon was particularly understated about it. "It's sort of odd to look back and see it as magical," he told The A.V. Club, "because it felt like a few lonely months at the cabin where I plugged in the laptop and f*cked around." The music took on a life of its own. 'For Emma, Forever Ago’ went on to be certified Platinum.
