I taught a financial literacy class to men in a reentry program today (formerly incarcerated) & one of the participants let me know they struggle with setting a budget because they experience a lot of anxiety. Immediately I stopped the class and went into activity. (A thread)

For the first time since we launched Harlow, I'm gearing up to disconnect for an entire week. That means no checking Slack, social, emails…nada. I'm even toying around with keeping my phone on airplane mode for the full week. Here's how I'm prepping: 1. Doubling up on newsletter + social content writing this week to cover next. 2. Delegating! We have an amazing freelancer named Jana in our back pocket. She's going to step up her support and manage more while I'm out. 3. Keeping only must-dos and the most critical meetings on my schedule this week so I can prioritize the biggest impact items before I take off. 4. Communicating to every vendor, client, freelancer, and person in my inbox about my upcoming time off so everyone understands my schedule. 5. Giving myself buffer time the afternoon before I take off to handle anything that comes up last minute. 6. Blocking the day I get back to catch up. When was the last time YOU fully disconnected (that wasn't a holiday)? How did you plan/prep to make sure it went smoothly?
