This past weekend we hosted our 8th Corps Member of Color Summit for our 2nd year BIPOC corps members! We’d like to thank the panelists: Nancy Tiên, Dilan Pedraza, Stephen Bell, and James Johnson, from the opening panel Power of Coalition Building moderated by JD Johnson.

As we conclude our features on our NAB Honors recipients, we want to honor Tanya Ortiz Franklin (Los Angeles ‘05) the 2022 Community Impact Honor Recipient. Community Impact Honor demonstrated measurable impact in our local communities. Congratulations, Tanya! 🎉 @TeachforAmerica

Today we’re honoring Alexis Tucker (Baltimore ‘17) the 2022 School/Systems Team Honor Recipient. School/Systems Team Honor demonstrated measurable impact in a school building or school system as a team. Congratulations, Alexis! 🎉

Today we are also honoring Elsie Urueta Pollock (St. Louis ‘08) the 2022 Systems Leader Honor Recipient. The Systems Leader Honor demonstrated measurable impact in a cabinet/senior level position for at least 3 years. Congratulations, Elsie! 🎉

Today we’re honoring Yasmin Vargas (New Jersey, ‘02), the 2022 School Leader Honor Recipient. The School Leader Honor demonstrated measurable impact in a school leader role for at least 3 years. Congratulations, Yasmin! 🎉

Today we want to honor Ornella Parker (New York, ‘14) the 2022 Rising Star Honor. The Rising Star Honor demonstrated measurable impact in an Assistant Principal/Dean or higher role including a school leader for 1-3 years. Congratulations, Ornella! 🎉 @TeachForAmerica
