Here is the secret science behind the "Dizzy Stick" walk: Deep inside your ears, you don't just have things that help you hear. You also have a built-in balancing system called the vestibular system. Think of it like three tiny, fluid-filled loop-the-loops lined with microscopic, hair-like sensors. When you are standing still, the fluid is still. But when you start spinning like a top around that stick, the fluid inside your ears starts sloshing and swirling around. This movement bends those tiny hair sensors, which send a message to your brain saying: "Hey! We are spinning!" Here is where the glitch happens. When you suddenly let go of the stick and stand up straight, your body stops moving. But because of physics (inertia), the fluid inside your ears keeps swirling around for a few more seconds! So, your brain gets two completely different reports: - Your eyes say: "Look, we are standing perfectly still on the grass." - Your inner ears scream: "No way, we are still spinning at 100 miles per hour!" Your brain gets totally confused by these mixed signals. When you try to walk in a straight line, your brain tries to "correct" for a spin that isn't actually happening. That is the kids wobble, tilt, and stumble! 😂

With over 15 years of post-graduation experience, Professor Aina operates at the intersection of technology, policy, and institutional transformation, advising federal and state governments on system design, digital transition, and operational reform. At 39, he became one of Nigeria's youngest Computer Engineering professors and will now make history as JAMB’s youngest registrar. He has served as a consultant to major examination bodies, including NECO, NABTEB, and various State Ministries of Education, providing expertise on ICT systems, examination integrity, and digital process optimisation.
