Following huge backlash FIFA president Gianni Infantino scraps plans for FIFA Forward Enterprise. This follows a day of emergency meetings in which Infantino was advised federations and financiers had turned against him, including some of his closest allies and confidants. In a statement, Infantino said "Having listened carefully to all the views, it has become clear that the project has created divisions of a nature that regardless of the level of support, are no longer in the interest of the objective set out in the first place.

The 47 Member Association of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) have joined UEFA and CONCACAF in rejecting @FIFAcom's FIFA Forward Enterprise. A statement on the AFC website read "The AFC stands in solidarity with UEFA and CONCACAF in expressing serious concerns over FIFA’s proposal to introduce private investment into FIFA's flagship competitions and the decision-making process around FFE."

The 55 members of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and 41 members of the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) have rejected the @FIFAcom proposal to sell minority and non-controlling stakes of the @FIFAWorldCup and other FIFA events to long term investors.
