@TheRochaSays I didn’t find the stories realistic. I thought it was surface level activism and stuff that could never happen. The government would literally kill everybody involved. Weird sex scenes and a cabal of racist ‘Christmas’ billionaires and ‘army guy’. The acting saved it for me.

It was always gonna be between #OBAA and #Sinners and in the end, the Academy chose OBAA. I think they did it because it speaks powerfully to what is going in our world and our country today and that just appealed to more of the #Oscars voters. They are both great movies. One had to win tho. Congrats to PTA and the whole OBAA crew on a well deserved win. And if the result had been reversed, I'd have been giving the same love to Coogler and the Sinners crew who deserved just as much. 🙏🏾 I'm just happy both movies exist for us to enjoy again and again and for future generations (and filmmakers) to discover and be inspired by.
