Squad instability- Unbalanced, inexperienced, ever changing squads with managers left to carry responsibility. Failed Strategy - Quantity prioritised over quality in aid of raising value to sell on for a profit. Chelsea is not a richer Brighton or Red Bull. Managerial Chaos - Underwhelming appointments chosen to fit the “internal structure and project” - the same structure that has failed Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino and Enzo Maresca. One club. First, Maresca was the manager who said we weren't ready to compete when we were in good form last season. He was the manager who won the Club World Cup and lost Colwill. Then said he needed a CB replacement. Let's talk motive and pattern. He's not someone who laments about the lack of signings or gets carried away. That was basically the first time he went public for a new signing. His message was always, "I like the squad and will work to improve them." Takeaway; the manager who trains the players knows his team best. If you truly trust your manager, you listen to him, especially one who is not crazy about new signings every summer. We didn't listen to him and the warnings, now we want to blame him for silly defensive mistakes. Of course, he made mistakes too, but if he has good defenders, they will make his life a lot easier. The animosity should be directed at the club, especially at the sporting directors.
