Nigeria expands HIV prevention options. The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare announces the arrival of Long-Acting Injectable Lenacapavir (LEN) PrEP, a new option in HIV prevention. Through the National AIDS, Viral Hepatitis and STIs Control Programme (NASCP), the Ministry continues to expand prevention choices and strengthen Nigeria’s response to HIV. The long-acting injectable provides sustained protection for people at risk of HIV and helps improve adherence to prevention. Another important step in Nigeria’s journey toward ending HIV as a public health threat. #HIVPrevention #PrEP #EndHIV #MinistryOfHealthNG

Over 1 billion children live in areas significantly affected by climate crisis and their health is increasingly impacted by the compounding factors with lasting effects on their development and life-long prosperity. The #OneHealthSummit 2026, as part of France’s #G7 presidency, represented a timely gathering of partners across sectors to address priority issues and solutions for the future of One Health, including the road to health sovereignty, digital innovation and tools, sustainable financing, civil society engagement, and youth empowerment. PMNCH was delighted to see partners unite and governments commit to the future of One Health this #WorldHealthDay, demonstrating how political commitment, international collaboration and science-based decision-making were the basis for accelerated action to save the lives of the world’s most vulnerable women, children and adolescents.
