Sandile, the problem with your question is premised on wanting football reasons while the coach does not use footballing reasons for his selection. Football reasons: Themba is not supposed to be there, Yaya after the long-term injury and AFCON is not supposed to be there. Before we could get to stats and throw in Abo Rayneys, we have to accept the man at the helm cares little about footballing reasons and therefore it would be difficult to try to use football reasoning to explain what's going on there.

I would like people who are good in analysing football to help me understand the question that is bothering me after watching Bafana Bafana. We have Lyl Forster who has played 23 games for Burnley, but he has scored 3 goals and 2 assists. We have Makgopa, who has played 25 games and has 6 goals and 3 assists. When we see Lyle missing sitters and making wrong passes, should I be surprised? Look at the form of the two players, Makgopa should play ahead of Lyle. As a supporter, should I expect my strikers to score after every fourth or fith game to see my strikers scoring a goal? I want to have correct expectations, my people.
