A trooper at the Haywood WB Scales conducted a CMV inspection and found a broken air ride suspension control box and deflated trailer air bags. The vehicle was placed out of service until repairs were made. Safety remains our top priority. @FMCSA

A trooper stopped a CMV traveling 17 MPH over the limit. Moments later, a steer axle tire blew out. At highway speeds, a steer tire failure can be catastrophic. This stop likely prevented a serious crash and saved lives. Enforcement isn’t just about citations.

Today, Commissioner Jeff Long and Colonel Matt Perry, alongside department leadership, celebrated the distinguished career of now-retired Major Stacey Heatherly. After 28 years of dedicated service with the THP, Major Heatherly has officially retired. Congratulations, Major! 🎉
