Today was a special and healing event for the contaminated blood community – long overdue. Well done to the leadership of @Clive_Smith_ in making it happen. To witness the prime minister engage with the community so directly inspires hope about the pace of change to come.

Today I paid tribute to the infected blood community for their extraordinary courage in their long fight for truth and justice. Thank you to the Infected Blood Memorial Committee for the care, compassion and dedication behind this service at St Paul’s Cathedral. As a nation, we must ensure the lessons of this scandal are never forgotten.
