@THXrhys @GavinVerhey Please, don't ask for this unless the supply issue is proven to be catastrophic (if it is, I'll stand with you). It's really good that they found a way to sneak in some good commons for us after 1.5 years of draught, with no plans for a non-standard set in the future.

@GavinVerhey Is there a reason Utrom Monitor is a common in the TMNT commander deck? It's very likely to be a big player in Pauper and previously you said that new cards in Commander decks wouldn't be printed as Commons.

@GavinVerhey Thanks for the reply! Really appreciate it. I wasn't aware there was a secondary set, as the set code was the same as the commander deck.
Should the rule for commander apply to these products in the future? As it impacts the supply (especially on modo) in a similar way.

@THXrhys Commander will not have intentional Pauper downshifts, that's true. This is not in commander. It's in the turtle team-up set.

@paolo_donfra Format isn't as closed as something like pre-Modern. It's just shifting to how it used to be before FIRE design and MH sets. It worked for all those years so we will be fine! :)

I'm talking about cards with a relevant presence in tournament metagame. Rod is debatable, but a fair inclusion. Not really much else. Now compare with any other year.
Wotc only releasing standard sets has an effect on Pauper. I don't know if it's good or bad, but it's there.

this has to be one of the dummest things I've ever heard, even as a casual pauper players there's no way this is serious right? Cryogen Relic? Masked Meower? Black Mage's Rod??? Closed format my ass - bait used to be believable and clearly I fell for it I guess

@GavinVerhey Player experience is such am awkward point to focus on. Jund Wildfire is super boring to play against and causes mass draws (as seen at Geddon). Surely this is now a cause to han that deck as well?

Today, after a trial unban period, we are re-banning High Tide in Pauper. This is due to a combination of power level, impact on player experience, and impact on the format as a whole.

Somewhat happy about the Legacy changes, a little surprised they failed to mention Taimyo or The One Ring at all. But I am extremely disappointed in the PFP for banning the 11th most-played deck on MTG Goldfish with a bad win rate because some midrange players cried enough.

Hi Pauper players! I wanted to provide an update on High Tide.
With the wider Magic B&R announcement moved two weeks earlier, we will now be making our check-in (and any potential B&R update) that day as well. So that's November 10th. You'll hear more at that time!

Hey Pauper players! Wanted to give an update as we end August - we're still evaluating High Tide. The format continues to evolve and we'd like a bit more time. You can still expect a check in (and option to ban) before the Nov B&R date, in late Sept/early Oct. Thanks!

5-0 mono red madness! I found all two-drop draws way too slow and I dropped my curve. This actually allowed me to beat two red mirrors!
