Creating Safe Learning Spaces This panel explored the impact of trauma on students’ behaviour and learning, focusing on interventions that create inclusive and safe #learningenvironments. Ann Swift and Aoife Connaughton discussed the evaluation of the Nurture Programme in @EducateTogether schools. Innovative Nurture Rooms were created for students: "This is the only place I want to talk and you’re the only one I want to talk to." Dr. Annie Cummins and Dr. Judith Butler @MTU_ie presented the #ShamrockModel of Trauma Informed Practice, which helps children co-regulate with adult support, equipping them with tools for self-regulation over time. Dr. Cummins emphasised the historical trauma in schools and highlighted that: "We have state-imposed poverty for people living in #DirectProvision."
