Great start to @GriderHank1744 senior season with @Baseball_Dillon . Struck out 11 in 5 innings (69 pitches) in first game against a tough team. Gave up 1 hit and 1 walk. Went 2-3 at the plate with a walk reaching base 4 times and scoring 4 runs. Gonna be a fun season.

The Biggest Mistake of College Pitchers The biggest mistake I see is guys doing random stuff and putting in the work, thinking that’s enough. They’ll say, yeah man, I’m putting in the work, I lift five times a week, I throw five times a week, I do mobility every day. Then I ask them, what’s the goal in the weight room? They say, just lift heavy. I ask, what’s the goal with your throwing program? What’s going on with your mechanics? What are you attacking? They’ll say they kind of just long toss every day and that’s it. So do you really feel like that’s the most efficient path to get where you want to go? If there’s no intention behind what you’re doing, then you’re just doing something to do something. This is most common with college guys in programs where the lifting plan isn’t great and the coaches don’t really help them. They get stronger, but they never throw harder. It’s because they’re not working on what they actually need to work on. If you’re already super strong in college, then let’s focus on force production, power, and your mechanics. You need to transfer the strength you built into the mound. I created a full guide on this, so if you want it, comment guide below and I’ll send it over.

@TJHannam10 Great discussion. I agree elite HS players should jump on early HS stuff (situation dependent) and not get to 2 strikes. That likely changes at the next level and a guy used to going early and slashing great #s may need to be a guy with the best 👁️ on the team and work a count.

If you’re scared to strikeout looking, Then you’re going to chase w/ 2 strikes more. You’re going to chase out of the zone out of FEAR I’ve learned from great coaches that their best hitters K more LOOKING than swinging SHRINK, not widen w/ 2 strikes LSU stresses this too

Hank had a nice outing in the Palmetto Games showcase as a top prospect in SC. Faced 2 DI commits (Coastal Carolina and Wofford) and a top nationally ranked underclass prospect. Eleven pitches, 9 strikes, 1K, 0 hits, 0BB, and 2 groundouts to 2B. Things are picking up…

Hank having a decent summer. Definitely didn’t have his best stuff working last night, but unfazed, and got it done anyways. Thru 23 innings for Post 1 this summer, 5-0 with a 0.91 ERA and 27Ks.

Florence 15 Wayne County NC 4 Post 1 opens the NCvsSC tourney with a win over the defending NC state champs. Cooper Coleman allows 0 ER in 5 IP. Barnes hits a 3 run HR, Atkinson had a 2 run triple and Coscetti and Grider each had 2 run doubles.

Hank will be playing with the top HS prospects in South Carolina in August…
