@kushan019 All the mechanics are removed automatically using a script.

I'm just curious, how are you able to remove the mechanics without losing your mind in the process? There's like so many characters. Do you make these changes on a move by move basis or do you have a program that does it faster? I'm only aware of the moveset editor but that doesn't seem efficient.

The Back To Basics mod has been updated to work with Season 3! No extra download is needed, everything should work using the existing executable file. Note: for those who still have issues with this tool, a new version with a different import method will release soon, stay tuned.

If you are having issues with the tool, please try deleting the "TEKKEN 8 - BACK TO BASICS" folder inside your system's "AppData/Local". This will force the tool to re-scan the game's memory addresses.

Tekken 8 Ver. 3.00 notice: due to the official moveset changes from the patch, unintended behavior may occur. The mod is currently being adapted to Season 3, please refrain from using it until the update goes live.

An issue with Shaheen's f,f+3 has been identified. While performing this move, the game would suddenly crash. This has now been fixed, sorry for the inconveniences that this may have caused. (Note: this fix is included in the latest moveset data and will be applied automatically)

@mr_mew7991 Thanks for your feedback! In case you don't know, you can use this mod online, there is no need to use Parsec, just make sure both players have it enabled before the match begins.

@TK8BackToBasics Played the mod with a friend tonight over Parsec; definitely enjoyed not having to worry about Heat or Rage Art being proverbial stop signs. Also thought rounds felt faster due to camera zoom ins and time stops being absent.

@SwaggyRambo Probably an automatic followup, and I imagine the parry window to be something like AK's punch parry. It's an interesting concept, but it requires more work and testing, I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the feedback!

@TK8BackToBasics Tbh yea, I think making them into parries should be fine, but it does raise some questions for moves like kings db1+2, like how long would the parry window last and would you make the followup automatically come out if hit, or keep it manual?

@Neimuresu_Rager With chip damage gone, defending against HAE would be easier. I'm personally against unblockables being too fast, so my initial idea was to make the 1+2 a +oB high, the 2 a -9 no KND mid, and the 1 an unsafe mid with better reward oH, but I'll consider your feedback too. Thanks!

@TK8BackToBasics I'll tell you more, don't mind people whining about HAE 1+2 being an unblockable, if it was a guard break (like in Tekken 7) it would be A LOT stronger.

@WazzupR2012 I think Rage is fine, the damage buff isn't much, so I don't consider it a problem (unlike previous games like T6) Adding characters is currently impossible due to animation files being different/encrypted this time around, so don't expect that to happen anytime soon.

@TK8BackToBasics Is removing Rage and adding characters like Bruce, Miguel, Michelle and Katarina on the agenda as well?

@TK8BackToBasics Sounds cool. Is there any possibility you can host the file for download elsewhere? Tekkenmods is an israeli site, which is bad enough but the kicker is their spy/bloat ware.

@TK8BackToBasics Plus, to resume Game modes (on training mode (for labbing and help newcomers) and offline mach). Normal Mode (Tekken 8) Customized mode : optionals mechanics (SAT, Tornados and so on) Also, it can keep the old fan base and the new fan base stable.

@noobyRL Make sure you're using the latest version of the game. If the issue persists, try deleting the "TEKKEN 8 - BACK TO BASICS" folder located in your system's AppData/Local/ and try again. Sorry for the inconvenience!

@TK8BackToBasics Unexpected Error has occured when it finishes, any tips on what I can do to make it work?

@Neimuresu_Rager Yes, both Lidia and Fahkumram lost a core stance because of the removal of Heat. If the mod becomes popular, I'll try to address this in future updates. In Lidia's case I think HAE could use some adjustments in order to be available again, mostly the 2 and 1+2, what do you think?

@TK8BackToBasics I'd miss Lidia's HAE stance, though. It's a stance she had in Tekken 7 and now it's only avaliable in heat.

@Little_Suplex Yes, this is just the first release. As stated in the mod page, if it becomes popular, I'll start working on small balance updates to reduce forced 50/50s, improve movement and of course, as you said, modify frame data accordingly to match the mod's vision, amongst other things.

@TK8BackToBasics Removing all the extra mechanics, but keeping the frame data unchanged is a bit...questionable, but I'm assuming this is an early version of the mod?

@SwaggyRambo The removal of mechanics brought some issues, this is actually one of them. All parry-like power crush moves are now useless and need a rework. I believe a good way to fix this would be turning them into regular parries instead... what do you think?

@TK8BackToBasics No power crush? So what happened to moves like Jack's 3+4 or dvjs b2+4?

@PhiDXGames Please do! Check the Github page for more info, but its pretty easy to setup. Changing the base HP may be difficult because this value is not stored in a character's moveset data, but I think there might be another way to do it. I'll consider this for the next update, thanks!

I have to give this a try, but from watching the gameplay my first thought is to bring the HP back down to 180 HP, if not lower If using T5DR, T6, or TTT2 as reference points, the high poke and combo damage does a lot to affect the pace of gameplay while still allowing a lot of good defense to shine
