The red card killed us, but tbh, I was already losing hope by the 60th minute because we were so blunt in the 2nd half. Our best chance in the 2nd half was an Araujo header with 1 minute left in added time.

#UCL #ATMBAR Weg mit den subjektiven VAR Entscheidungen,die aus dem Spiel geschehen (Foul) &nur noch faktische Entscheidungen (Abseits/Tor) für den VAR… Was ein Wahnsinnsspiel...-dafür liebt man⚽️, aber nach Jahren muss man festhalten: der #VAR macht den Fußball schlechter! Mal werden Entscheidungen im Graubereich korrigiert & mal nicht. Selbst in der UCL.. Turpin leitete mit all seiner Erfahrung & gutem Spielverständnis großzügig wirklich gut und dann kam die Notbremse (DOGSO) nach VAR-Review… Turpin wollte Gelb geben-gab nach Review Rot. Andere Szenen blieb stehen… Er hatte meiner Meinung nach das richtige Gespür für die Szene im Spiel-war vorher in anderen sehr großzügig gegen Barça und das hätte dann hier auch umgekehrt gepasst. Von Zentral hat man einen kürzeren Weg als von Außen. Gelb gegeben wäre sicherlich nicht korrigiert worden, aber durch die Abseits Fahne war das Ergebnis offen und so wurde die Szene nach Fernsehen (Standbild) beurteilt und ohne Gespür für das Spiel. Es hat das Spiel final gekillt und das war dieses Spieles nicht angemessen-vertretbar, aber passte nicht zum Rest! Und das ist das Problem mit dem VAR: Top-Schiedsrichter entscheiden aufgrund ihrer Erfahrung und ihres Spielgefühles und dann entscheidet ein einzige Szene nach Bildern solch ein Spiel👎. Das führt zu Disbalancen, die dem Fußball schaden!

I understand that people get emotional after this cruel eliminations but guys can we be a little bit realistic here, you really can’t put blame on Flick for this tie. He outcoached Simeone in the first leg, even while playing an entire half with 10 men. And in the second leg, where do you even start? Flick basically set the team up for a 4–1 or 5–1 win in the first half, the game should’ve been over from there, but it’s not his fault the players couldn’t finish their chances. Maybe the second-half subs weren’t perfect, especially taking Ferran off, but once the red card happened, I don’t think it would’ve changed much anyway. Eric completely killed our chances there. And even after that, Flick still tried to find solutions, pushing Araújo up as a second striker and shifting Roony to the right with Lamine moving central. Those changes got us that last chance for Araujo, and yet again, we missed an easy opportunity. Seriously, what more is he supposed to do, go out there and score himself?
