Our win at @WychavonFoB on Saturday was the band’s first win at a contest in 22 years! We would like to thank @TL_Dunne for all of his hard work over the last few months on The Tale of the Princess & the Dragon and working with the band to create a musical fairytale 🐉👸

Everyone from Lydney Town and Training Bands are sending every ounce of good wishes to Kenand Roger, who are shortlisted in today’s @BrassBandsEng Awards in the Services to Youth category! They have made a huge difference to both bands and we’re incredibly proud of them both ☺️🎶

We found out this week that in recognigition of their years of service to developing the next generation of brass players, Ken and Roger Powell - two stalwarts of the band, have been shortlisted for the 2024 @BrassBandsEng Services to Youth Award! 🎉

What 👏 a 👏 year!!! Where to begin?! We marked the Town Band’s 130th anniversary with a phenomenal concert to a full house in Lydney Town Hall! We entered three contests - ODBBA, WEBBA and Wychavon, taking second place AND best soloist AND youngest player at the latter!

Last night, players from our Starter Group and Training Band visited Goode Court in Lydney to spread some festive cheer amongst the residents. The evening featured an opportunity for the first-ever solo performances by five of the players (adults and kids!)

Proud to lead @LydneyBand in their 130th anniversary celebration concert on Saturday. The band played brilliantly to a full house, and it was great to join forces with Lydney Training Band for our first ever massed band finale as an organisation. A fabulous evening! 🎼🎶🎺
