@MiddleearthMixr “I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo. "So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

I am not saying I am a huge Markwayne Mullin fan (and dude, seriously, just go by Mark), but plumbing work is hard. I do it. Slopes, angles, venting. Designing a drain, waste, and vent system is applied physics. Code compliance would challenge most lawyers. Jimmy Kimmel could not plumb a toilet if his life depended on it. The little guy couldn’t change his own oil. I would take a plumber over an actor any day every day. I’d take a plumber over someone with a PhD in philosophy. Frankly, I’d take a plumber over most Doctors, as their arrogance far exceeds their intellect.

@Andrewnsnyder Valid point. I’m put off by it right off the bat though, I can’t stand Colbert. He’s so insufferably obnoxious. One of my biggest beefs with The Hobbit movies is that they gave him a cameo in the Laketown scenes.

I don’t have high hopes for this, but here is the most positive framing I can consider: Setting his politics aside, Colbert obviously knows and appreciates the books. He likely missed seeing these chapters in Jackson’s films (as did I) and wanted to come up with some way to go back and insert them. Maybe this is simply a book appreciator’s passion project. Hope may not be great here, but let’s let them cook and see what happens.

NEW 'LORD OF THE RINGS' MOVIE Stephen Colbert is co-writing "The Lord of the Rings: Shadow of the Past" (working title), which will go into production after "The Hunt for Gollum." The synopsis: "Fourteen years after the passing of Frodo - Sam, Merry, and Pippin set out to retrace the first steps of their adventure. Meanwhile, Sam’s daughter, Elanor, has discovered a long-buried secret and is determined to uncover why the War of the Ring was very nearly lost before it even began." Colbert is co-writing the script with his son, Peter McGee, and franchise veteran Philippa Boyens. variety.com/2026/film/news…

But Carter did: -Give up the Panama Canal because he felt bad about American greatness -Assist Mugabe and Nkomo in killing Rhodesia in the name of race communist -Let the Weather Underground, FALN, and Black Panthers get away with domestic terror campaigns -Pardon draft dodgers -Do nothing effective to help the American embassy personnel held hostage by the Iranians for over a year Carter was a total disaster, by far one of our worst presidents by any metric. Most importantly, he was, in terms of what policies he supported, he was an outright Third Worldist who did everything imagineable to advance the tide of equity against what remained of civilization

Kimmel, jackass extraordinaire: “Before he was elected to the Senate, Markwayne Mullin was a plumber. That’s right. We have a plumber protecting us from terrorism now. Well, if it works for Super Mario, why not Markwayne?” This jerkoff and his sneering, class-warrior tantrum can blow it out his ass. This shit from a man who’s spent decades bathing in the unearned superiority of late-night television, where the only real work is reading cue cards written by Ivy League grads who’ve never fixed a leaky pipe or met a payroll. Facts: Mullin didn’t inherit a trust fund or a nepotism gig at ABC. He grew up on a family ranch in Oklahoma. When his father got sick, Mullin dropped out of college at 20, took over the struggling Plumbing business, and turned it into a multimillion-dollar regional powerhouse employing hundreds of people. He earned an associate’s degree in construction technology later. He’s a Cherokee Nation member, a former wrestler and MMA fighter, a husband of nearly 30 years, and father of six. Then he won a House seat in 2012, moved to the Senate, and built a record as a pro-America First conservative. This is literally the American Dream in work boots. Plumbers keep hospitals, schools, and homes functioning. They solve real problems with their hands while elites like Kimmel solve nothing but how to keep their audience in a perpetual state of smug outrage. Kimmel’s “joke” drips with the same venom Democrats unleashed on “Joe the Plumber” in 2008: contempt for anyone who didn’t follow the approved coastal script of elite credentials, media internships, and performative wokeness. Hollywood’s idea of “qualified” is a career bureaucrat who’s never built anything, or a celebrity donor who’s never risked capital. A self-made businessman who scaled a blue-collar company into success? That’s apparently terrifying. The guy who thinks a plumber can’t handle threats is the same one whose industry celebrated open borders, sanctuary policies, and defund-the-police experiments that left cities drowning in chaos. Real protection comes from people who understand trade-offs, incentives, and consequences...not late-night hosts who fly private while lecturing about climate. This jackass isn’t “edgy.” He’s a decaying relic of a dying late-night formula: canned laughter, scripted outrage, and zero self-awareness. While Mullin was saving his family’s company and building something tangible, Kimmel was getting rich mocking the people who actually make the country run. America doesn’t need more Hollywood hall monitors. Mullin’s background isn’t a liability...it’s an asset. Kimmel’s monologue isn’t humor...It's a self-congratulatory circle jerk that perfectly exposes why his entire industry is circling the drain.
Alex Christy@alexchristy17

Jimmy Kimmel doesn't think Markwayne Mullin is qualified to be the Secretary of Homeland Security because he used to be plumber, "Before he was elected to the Senate, Markwayne Mullin was a low-level MMA fighter and a plumber. That's right. We have a plumber protecting us from terrorism now. It worked for Super Mario. Why not Markwayne?"

@ZeekArkham What a stupid comment for Kimmel to make, typical elitist who looks down on hard working Americans who work with their hands and make the country work. Frankly if plumbers and others like that were in Congress we’d probably get a lot more good things done

Dear Jimmy Kimmel, Remember when you had a set of balls? Remember when you had this thing in your body called “testosterone?” It was wonderful, wasn’t it? You’re saying the senator can’t have his role in Trump’s administration because he was a plumber. AOC was a bartender and wants to tell everyone how to live their lives. Bernie Sanders has never had a job outside of Congress. Pete Buttigieg was the transportation secretary and the most he could do was lecture everyone on “racist roads” and take extended time off to raise his kids and pose for pictures with his husband. Now you’re worried about qualifications? I’d rather have a plumber doing some work for our government than someone like you who is happily swinging off the Democrat’s balls for head pats. No hugs. Next time your toilet backs up, go call Nancy Pelosi. Zeek

What is your objective here General @StanMcChrystal ? I will forever be confused about your character arc. I remember you. I never met you, but I remember what it was like under you in 2010. Trying to engage Taliban in Zhari, Kandahar. Your "courageous restraint" approach in full effect. It really stings you know. Because we had such good ISR. It was so easy to spot enemies setting up for attacks. But unless the boys were in contact, every engagement had to be weighed and deliberated. To strike first meant going back and forth with commanders and JAG. In truth, you're the one I should've been mad at all these years, not the JAGs interpreting your policy. I remember having to meticulously set up a response to a Taliban attack hear Highway 1 so we wouldn't get grief for engaging first. We saw their weapons on ISR. Knew they were going to start shooting our convoy. Just like they did dozens of times before from the same spot. But we weren't allowed to harm structures or engage first without hostile intent, whatever that means. So we had to set up this janky ass plan where mortars were laid in on the backside of their attack site. So we could try and hit them on the way out when they mounted their bikes. It was all just so dumb. We didn't kill sh*t. Because how do you hit dudes on motorcycles with mortars? Whether or not you meant the ROE to work out that way, that's how it was perceived at our level. So when I saw you got fired, I breathed a sigh of relief. We all did. Say what you want about GEN Petraeus but at least he let us shoot back when he took over. You say "I had the honor and opportunity to serve with some of the most elite forces...". Man, that hits deep. Because I remember thinking that before I hit ground in Afghanistan. I was like "Yea! This man won't let us suffer like we did in Iraq a year prior, he's gonna let us take the gloves off. He's an operator." We expected wildcat and all we got was a beached whale. The SOF dude turned into a sheep. I remember sitting around a burn barrel one night a couple months in talking to some folks. All of us asking how a SOF guy could be so weak. We got talked off so many fights up to that point. You failed General. Like it or not, you failed. And I don't recall you admitting that once. If you were humble about it, maybe I could respect you. But here you are smearing our Secretary like you and your retired cohort do all day every day. It's really sad honestly. Your sycophants on here always go in my comments sticking up for you, saying people like Hegseth are the war criminal and you're the savior. Say what you want about the man. At least he lets us throw a punch. Working for you with two arms held behind my back will forever be stuck in my mind. And you're just making it worse by saying dumb things in interviews.

I grew up in Bruce Springsteen's hometown. His song "My Hometown" is LITERALLY about my hometown. Springsteen’s music was the anthem of my teenage years. The town is called Freehold, New Jersey. A. & M. Karagheusian, Inc. was a giant carpet mill in Freehold that was once the town’s single biggest employer. It shut down and moved away in 1964. That act of taking away a town’s jobs to move them to where labor was vastly cheaper DEVASTATED that community. Freehold became impoverished and almost a ghost town, taking decades to recover. All of the themes in Bruce’s early work about the indignities heaped upon the working man stem directly from the pain he, his family and his neighbors experienced when that carpet mill moved away to chase cheaper labor costs elsewhere. The theme of the betrayed working man streams across all of his early albums with a heartfelt sincerity that was borne of painful experience. The albums “Darkness on the Edge of Town,” “The River,” and “Nebraska” in particular resonate with the mournful howls of the betrayed laborer whose calloused hands meant nothing to the bosses who had thanklessly reaped the rewards of his pain and sweat. Early on, Bruce really and truly did speak for the working man. But somewhere in Hollywood he lost his way. Now, it’s 2026 and the singular domestic agenda of President Donald J. Trump is to bring back American manufacturing jobs from offshore and to restore the dignity, pride and wealth of the working everyman. And Bruce SPITS ON THAT to appeal to his Hollywood cronies. When you understand this background about Bruce, his behavior comes into sharp focus as perhaps the very most disgusting behavior of any pop star alive in America today. He has betrayed the everyman he once championed. SHAME ON YOU BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN. The young man who once wrote these lyrics would find you disgusting: "Early in the morning, factory whistle blows Man rises from bed and puts on his clothes Man takes his lunch, walks out in the morning light It's the working, the working, just the working life Through the mansions of fear, through the mansions of pain I see my daddy walking through them factory gates in the rain Factory takes his hearing, factory gives him life The working, the working, just the working life End of the day, factory whistle cries Men walk through these gates with death in their eyes And you just better believe, boy, somebody's gonna get hurt tonight It's the working, the working, just the working life 'Cause it's the working, the working, just the working life"

Springsteen is the youngest person on this bill — he’s 76. Sanders is the second youngest. He’s 84.

CONGRESS: Although likely well-intentioned, they seem oblivious that their seemingly never-ending careers aren’t something to fawn over. Stubbornly grasping the reins of power for decades on end while denying outsiders the opportunity to contribute fresh perspectives is flagrantly aristocratic, arrogantly out of touch, and not at all becoming of a member of the American system of government. Congress will never vote to end its own careers. That’s why the Convention of States Resolution includes term limits for ALL federal officials—including unelected bureaucrats. Along with fiscal restraints and limits on federal power, this is real reform. Sign the petition: conventionofstates.com/x-petition #termlimits
