@ronsterd89 Yeah he probably has adhd. Normal kids aren't overwhelmed by mess in the way you are describing. Getting him tested is probably a good idea. Medicating adhd leads to statistically better outcomes for adhd children and the people around them.

Just want genuine advice,grandpa to grandpa here. I have a 7 1/2 year-old who refuses to help pick up his room. He gets overwhelmed and angry and dismissive every time I ask him to help. I understand that his room gets out of control and I try to get him to pick it up after the end of each day and it is an incredibly huge fight that honestly, I am exhausted in fighting. From one grandpa to another what should I do? I am seriously open for all suggestions!
