When chains drag or metal scrapes the pavement, it can throw sparks into dry brush along our roadways, and in Northern Nevada, that can quickly turn into a dangerous roadside fire.

Cause under investigation. No structures impacted. All evacuations lifted. Fire came close to a water tank on O'Brien Pass. All fires are contained and out at this time. Crews remain on the scene, mopping up. Support from Reno Fire, Sparks Fire, and BLM resources.

This afternoon at 3:50pm, TMFR Crews responded to multiple roadside fires at Midnight Ct and Highland Ranch PKWY. The approximately six starts on 7Th Avenue westbound toward US 395. Total estimated size up is about 4 acres. All fires are contained and crews are mopping up.

Overnight, #TMFR crews responded to a fully involved trailer fire in the 8700 block of Spearhead Way in Golden Valley. Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire and prevented it from spreading to nearby structures. No injuries reported. Cause under investigation.

⚠️#TMFR firefighters quickly knocked down a brush fire on the 500 block of Quartz Lane in Sun Valley about 3:30pm. No structures were impacted and no injuries reported. Cause under investigation.

Crews acted quickly to contain the fire and limit extension into surrounding vegetation. Thanks to the coordinated response, the fire was knocked down quickly with no injuries reported to civilians or fire personnel. Thank you to our partners at Reno Fire for their assistance.

Earlier this weekend, #TMFR crews responded to a vehicle fire in the Lemmon Valley area. Upon arrival, firefighters located an unoccupied vehicle fully involved and threatening nearby wildland fuels.

The sole occupant was the pilot. No injuries reported and no hazardous materials leaked from the aircraft. The scene was left with the Airport Authority, who is waiting for the FAA to investigate.

About noon today, a single engine taildragger made an unplanned but safe landing in an open field, owned by UNR Farms, generally between Veterans Parkway and McCarran Boulevard (closer to McCarran).
