@MauveManatee Irving was found alone at just 10 months old, so he was separated from his mother too soon. This could've been for a number of reasons, like predation or strong storms, leaving the young pup to fend for himself in an ocean he's not quite ready to navigate on his own yet.

Irving the sea lion is recovering at @TMMC. His last health check listed him as malnourished, but vets at the center say the 10-month-old pup is starting to gain weight and show signs of improvement. @kron4tv
