Schools not taking ALL your years of service is f* BS. Hanging out with a friend with 18 years who moved districts and they only took 8. 😡😡😡 This just shows how salary scales are not about experience and quality but a mind game of making you think someday you could make a living wage the last year of your teaching.

Teachers don't leave because it's hard. Teachers are some of the most conscientious and hardest working professionals I know. They leave because the field fails to provide the pay, respect, support, and value that they deserve as professionals.

My hot take is that most of us have not adequately processed the trauma of the pandemic. And our sprawling, unprocessed trauma chews away at our brains in myriad ways that make us anxious about why we can’t seem to live our lives as instinctively or as joyously as we did in 2019.
