Yesterday 4 people died due to Lightning in #Virudhunagar. Every year, >5000 die in India. This thread is about Lightning precaution & busting myth. Many think, people die due to direct lightning strike, but most of the death happens due to the concept called step potential 1/10

As of now, India import 20+% of our crude oil from Russia but 50+% of our LNG comes from Qatar, 12+% from UAE. The closure of the strait will halt the movement of crude & LNG from Saudi, Iraq, Kuwait,Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, and Iran. India is one of the worst affected country 2/2

Iran Revolutionary Guard declare the closure of the strait of Hormuz. This is a devastating news for world economy and India. 70+% of our LNG and 30+% of our crude oil import passes through the strait of Hormuz. I really hope, the situation goes back to normal 1/2.

Restoration of 7 acres has been completed (Palk Bay 4, Gulf of Mannar 3) and under the pioneering TNSHORE project, 18 acres are now under active restoration in the Gulf of Mannar including Kariyachalli (3 acres), Vilanguchalli (5), Thalayari (5) and Hare Island (5). Farewell Rivaldo 💔 you will be missed badly. Not just another elephant, but an icon of the Masinagudi, Nilgiris, a gentle friend of forests and people alike, a towering presence who wandered freely through his ancestral lands. His passing today due to ill health leaves a void in the hearts of every conservationist, forest dweller and wildlife lover who watched him roam with such dignity. From the day he was released from a Kraal by the TN Forest Department back into the wild to see him free again was a moment of pride I will always cherish. Rivaldo reminded us that elephants belong to the wild that their freedom is precious, and their presence a blessing to the land they call home #Rivaldoelephant

Last few days, he was roaming with severe injuries, initial investigation assume he got injured by another elephant. He died due to injury. Rest in peace my beloved Rivaldo, we miss you.

Rivaldo was kept in captivity for three months, Madras High court ordered to release him back to forest. Though forest dept try to get him into the core forest, he keep returning to the village side of vazhaithottam area. Forest dept kept monitoring, lived like that for next 5yrs
