The most sturdy place you can be in Christ. Nothing can threaten your personal self image when you have been validated completely like God. It may sting for a while, but you have a good anchor, and your life is on a rock, the winds and storms don’t move you. Grace and Peace.

@TheDumbTechGuy @RunoBrand @paajoe_neeqamon Jesus doesn’t say that. He posed a rather reflective premise “are you willing to pay the price (losing your riches) to follow me, if you claim to want to follow me perfectly” ? From which the statement follows based of the young man’s demeanour — the rich will almost never.

Isn't it weird, that an all powerful deity, chooses to reward those who worship him in their after-life with material things like mansions, gold and virgins?

@TheDumbTechGuy @RunoBrand @paajoe_neeqamon The verse you quoted is an excerpt from the encounter of a rich man with Jesus, where Jesus poses a command; sell all your possession and give to the poor, and “follow me”. The mans sad countenance was the point Jesus was making — to follow Jesus is to put him before the wealth.

@TheDumbTechGuy @RunoBrand @paajoe_neeqamon Nah! “But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth”; “The blessing of the Lord maketh rich and He addeth no sorrow with it” Wealth was never a problem, The idol made out of it is

@sayntmanny Following the thread, this conversation centers around theology-based damnation does it not? Else damnation is not talk about eternity it directly relates to heaven. The invalidity thus, was based on the point you raised— if they believe Jesus was created, or the Father greater.

@TOlowoselu Yeah, I'm not sure what invalidity you are speaking of, but it's fine. Whatever it is, it must not be related to my interest in this conversation. Who is trying to hold people to a heavenly standard of theology here and how?

@sayntmanny Not trying to dunk on you here, just pointing the invalidity out. If it came across that way sorry bro, it wasn't the intention. Not quite sure what you mean by the 3rd question if what we grapple to make clear here is damnation by theological differences.

@TOlowoselu 1) I wasn't responding to the original post 2) I am free to come up with a different argument that is more focused on the issues I'm particularly concerned with. You're free to critique it for what it's worth but have that in mind 3) What's the relevance of your "heaven" comment?

@sayntmanny Your argument digresses from the main argument a bit, the OP focused on thematic difference in Christianity not being a hindrance when the core principle is believed. Hence your argument is not exactly valid, unless you mean we make heaven by our understanding of perfect theology

@TOlowoselu Have you been reading my argument from the beginning? I'm talking about people who *deny* core and clear Christian doctrines like the deity of Christ, not people who had limited knowledge of it, such as the OT believers.

@daveek10 @FavourYusuf1 @d_ocheido That's a tough stance bro. If you believe was the only criteria Christ gave, not if you have been convinced and revealed to. Belief on the dead bed is not stress tested for conviction and revelation but we believe they made it. Our work is yielding to God's grace but we can fall.

@TOlowoselu @FavourYusuf1 @d_ocheido Believing comes with conviction and revelation... Once you have those 2 things, faith becomes unshakable No way someone can be in the light and deliberately chose darkness

Let me look for trouble this afternoon. It was a few weeks ago that @d_ocheido was talking about Once saved, Always saved (apologies if it wasn't you). So, my question is this: If someone like this previously believed that Jesus was God made manifest in human flesh, born of a virgin, died a sinless man for his/her sins, and resurrected on the third day. If they believed and confessed the same, we would say that they are saved right? Now, a few years down the line, that person decides to convert to Islam for any reason. As far as I know, Islam denies that Jesus was God, denies that he was crucified or was resurrected. Thus, anyone who believes this does not believe the gospel and is not a believer. So, has such a person lost his salvation or not?

@sayntmanny @SaintAwoleesu @116_Nonii This argument is not valid bro. Some people will, that died days, weeks, years, centuries before Jesus, make heaven without believing He was the son of God, or less than God. We only aim to perfect theological understanding to know more about God, the principles are unchanged

@SaintAwoleesu @116_Nonii If the Arians won, God would have found another way to preserve His church as He always has. If they said Jesus was the Son of God but was a created being, would that be okay? Is the Father being greater than the Son because He created Him an acceptable Christian position?

@olusocgracia @FavourYusuf1 @d_ocheido So only until our final breath can one tell if they truly believed. If you make it to heaven congrats if you don't; nice playing sincerity on earth. The condition is clear “if you believe you will be saved”. Everything afterwards is your yieldedness to God's grace

@FavourYusuf1 @d_ocheido They were never saved in the first instance. You cannot lose what you were not given. Eph 2:7-9 expressly says it is God's gift. Just because people identify as Christians doesn't make them one. John 17:12 "those that thou gavest me (past tense) I have kept, and none of them...

@daveek10 @FavourYusuf1 @d_ocheido How can you say he or she never believed confidently????? How do you know you believe? Because life’s whirlwinds have never blown mighty rough? You need God to make jobs example of you before you are sure?? What then is the yardstick for being sure that you believe?

@FavourYusuf1 @d_ocheido There is not a single person who believes Jesus is God in the flesh will turn around and join a religion that doesn't believe same He or she never believed, so there they were false converts and were never saved, it's as simple as that

I am not a great theologian, but from my very little experience with reading scriptures in a few translations: 1. The Psalms & Proverbs are very nice to read in KJV/NKJV 2. The best NT translation, especially when reading the epistles, is the ESV. Some scholars agree. 1/2

I’m just wondering. Do Muslims ever spread their faith through good works, such as starting orphanages, opening hospitals, feeding the hungry, and helping the poor? Or do they just spread it with violence?

@TOlowoselu @lilyally98 You misunderstood the meaning of control. It isn’t meant to control “people” as your dark mind obviously automatically assumed. It is the control of how the religion is spread and how it is preserved, making it hard to corrupt.
